Steemfoods: Ginataang Tilapia with Pechay | #sfcharity50pc
Hello Steemfood lovers!
Today,let me share with you my very own Stewed Coconut milk Tilapia with Pechay or Ginataang Tilapia na may Pechay in Filipino.
Ginataang Tilapia is one of my favorite dish and it is the easiest that can do with Tilapia fish. The word "ginataan" means to cook the fish in coconut milk.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 kilo tilapia fish cleaned and sliced
- 1 to 2 bunches pechay trimmed
- 2 cups coconut milk
- 1 medium size white onion chopped
- 1 to 2 thumb size ginger sliced into strips
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 1 piece finger chili siling haba
- 1/8 cup vinegar
- salt
- ground black pepper to taste
- Magic Sarap for seasoning
How to cook Ginataang Tilapia with Pechay
Step 1
Heat the cooking oil in a frying pan.
Step 2
Saute the garlic, white onion, ginger and chili in the hot oil.
Step 3
Once the white onion become soft, pour the coconut milk into the pan then follow the vinegar. Let boil and cover. Cook for 5 minutes to medium heat.
Step 4
Add the tilapia fish. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes.
Step 5
Add seasonings with Magic Sarap, salt and ground black pepper. Stir. Cook for 3 minutes.
Step 6
Add the Pechay, put on the top of the fish. Cover and cook for 1 minute.
Transfer to a big bowl. Serve hot. Share and Enjoy!
