Dear Steemians..., How are you all today?

Back again with me @zulman discussing another old games in order to bring back sweet old days memory for those of you who ever heard about the game and giving you information about some best old games for those of you who never heard about it. In today's post, I would like to talk about still the game that belong into the genre of Racing, the game called "CARMAGEDDON".

Alright, if you are following me at @zulman, you should be understand that I will continue talking or discussing about old games. To be precise, i will discuss about the game for MS-DOS. MS-DOS is a really popular operating system back than because of games that made available for it by developer. This game that i am going to talk about is belong to the genre of Racing, as you may know from my previous article, i talked a lot about Racing game. Yes, I love playing racing games.

The game that i want to discuss today called CARMAGEDDON, this game is not an ordinary racing game, this game has very unique gameplay. CARMAGEDDON is a racing game where there is extreme violent integrate with it. because of this violence, I do not recommend this game to be played by kids. To be honest, I have never heard this games before. oo, before we continue, i will tell you that the article that i am going to write from now on is about reviewing old MS-DOS game that i have never played before. I would like to experience what is the game's look like and how good is the gameplay. Also, I will tell you about some of the information about the game.

Alright now, let us learn a little bit about the game itself before we started setting up on a computer to play it, how will be the game look like. Also, at the end of this article, i will give my opinions about these game. Is it good, is it bad, or is it worth to try.

CARMAGEDDON (Violence Racing Video Game)

CARMAGEDDON is a video game belong to the genre of Racing. This video games was developed by Stainless Games. This video games is published by Interplay and Sci in the year of 1997. This video games originally developed for MS-DOS. However, following it success, the game later on also port for another platform. This game also have several sequel, the are a series of follow-up title. The game itself was developed with an inspiration from another game. The inspiration of the games is come from a 1975 cult classic movie called "Death Race 2000".

Stainless Games, the company who developed CARMAGEDDON is a company that was found in the year of 1994. The company originally name Stainless Software. This company was found by the industry veteran named Patrick Buckland and Neil Barnden. They are act as the lead programmer and lead artist respectively. Before they build the company, Buckland was a freelance programmer, and Neil was a senior designer at Conran and The Body Shop.

The company start out with a sub-contract for 3D engine work for Argonaut Games, they also developed a multimedia titles for the Times-Mirror Company. Later on, the company get a contract form SCi and developed a video game that later on known as CARMAGEDDON. This game at first get some controversial responce, this is because the game is so violent. The content of the game is full of blood. However, amid this controversy, the game still get a high review. This is because the gameplay of CARMAGEDDON is very compelling and also contain many ground breaking features. Because of this success, Stainless Games relese the sequel called Carmageddon II in the year of 1998 and then a subsequent version of the franchise called Carmageddon TDR 2000. This version has no relation to Stainless Games.

Alright, now let's talked about the gameplay of CARMAGEDDON.

CARMAGEDDON Gameplay

In Carmageddon, the gameplay is very different compare to another Racing Games. The player of this game will races a vehicle against a number of other racers that controlled by the computer. The opponents has various different setting. The races will take place in various place. Including in the city, mine, and even industrial areas. The player of this game will get a certain about of time to complete each races. The race is not with other computer controlled racers but also with time. In order to get more time, the player need to acquire bonuses that available. Damaging the competitors will also give the player more time. There is another violence thing in order to get more time, the player can run or kill the pedestrian. Man, that is why this game is very violent.

In order to complete the race, the player need to complete all the course as one would do in a normal racing games. However, in carmageddon, the player also can complete the game by wasting or wrecking all other racers. if the player is the only racers left in the race, he/she will complete or win the race. The player also can kill all the pedestrian on the level. In the gameplay, there are 36 race tracks available. This tracks will be played across 11 different map. another cool thing about this games is it also feature some awesome instrumental version of songs form Fear Factory's album from 1995.

In some country, the game has some other features available, for example, such as in Germany and UK, for a short time when the game released, it contain some zombies or robot instead of people, This is due to the fact that the developer want to minimize the violent of the game. They think running over undead or zombies or even robot is considered more acceptable. This game, Carmageddon was popular also because of it's realistic physics and for its in game movie making features. This game also considered to be one of the first racing game that use 3D graphics.

My opinion about CARMAGEDDON video games.

Peronally, in term of gameplay, I think this game is very good. I like the idea of not only racing in order to win the game. the fact that the player also can destroy another car or racers is very interesting. I would recommend this game for you who like racing game with a little twist in it's story. However, if you do not like violence, than this game is not for you. For me, I am enjoying the game.
