Achievement 2 : Basic Security on Steemit | By @jahidhassanmt
Hello Steemit Community,
I have successfully completed my Achievement 1, and today I am here to complete Achievement 2, which is focused on Basic Security on Steemit. Understanding how the security keys work is the most important part of being a Steemian.
Here are my answers to the security questions:
Question 1: Have you retrieved all your keys on Steemit?
Answer: Yes, I have successfully retrieved all my keys. I have downloaded the PDF file containing my Private Keys and Master Password.
Question 2: Do you know each of these key functions and restrictions?
Answer: Yes, I have learned the functions of each key:
Posting Key: Used for daily social activities like posting, commenting, voting, and following others.
Active Key: This is for wallet operations. Used for transferring tokens, power up/down, and converting SBD.
Owner Key: The most powerful key. It is used to recover the account or change other keys.
Memo Key: Used to encrypt and decrypt private messages during a fund transfer.
Question 3: How do you plan to keep your master password safe?
Answer: I have saved my Master Password in an offline encrypted file and also kept a handwritten copy in a secure diary. I will never share it with anyone.
Question 4: Do you know how to transfer your STEEM tokens to another Steem user account?
Answer: Yes, I know.
Go to Wallet.
Click on the drop-down menu next to STEEM.
Select Transfer.
Enter the recipient's username and the amount.
Confirm using the Active Key.
Question 5: Do you know how to do the Power Up process in Steem?
Answer: Yes, I know.
Go to Wallet.
Click on the drop-down menu next to STEEM.
Select Power Up.
Enter the amount and click Power Up.
Confirm using the Active Key.
Conclusion:
Security is the first priority on this blockchain platform. I am now confident in managing my account keys safely.
Thank you!
