Yes I have had very similar experiences with people about electric car's. And I always said they will be faster then any internal combustion engined vehicle. Yes got to love that instant torque of these electric motors :) Anyone that has had a ride in my Prius can hardly believe it takes of so quick from a standstill and that is from the electric motor assisting the petrol engine.
