Fun in the snow - My Actifit Report Card: February 20 2026

It was a cold but clear day for a long hike up on our favorite route up in Flagstaff as the drizzle down in Cottonwood had fallen as 3 inches of pretty snow up the hills.

It was frigid (24 degrees) in Flagstaff but the sun was bright and the air calm. Footing was a bit tricky on the roads as the packed snow was slippery in many spots. I had bought a set of doggy booties for Lulu but needless to say she wasn't thrilled with them so we hiked along without them.

Once we hit the service road along the base of the Mesa the path was packed down with the footprints of many hikers so the walking wasn't too difficult. Of course Lulu was happy to trot along with occasional stops to run through the new snow or have a good roll.

We didn't try to continue up the hill towards the Observatory but the path wasn't as clear so we turned downhill and headed onto the flat city park for some easy flat hiking.
The park was busy with children playing in the snow and others walking and enjoying the beautiful day.

A wonderful day to be outdoors.
Tomorrow I'm on the road to the NM border transporting a lovable dog towards its new home in CO so probably not much activity.
