Let's get outdoors-Actifit Report Card: February 15 2026
I was busy prospecting at Lynx Creek yesterday so no running but plenty of digging and lugging buckets of dirt (and about $30 worth of gold found) so I was a bit stiff and achy today.

Our morning walk was interrupted a bit by a nearby fire in one of the rvs so we walked only about a mile instead of the usual 2 or more.
My legs and back were still feeling the strain from digging so my run was an easier 3 miles on the road at a bit slower pace. Overall I felt pretty good but it would be better if I could maintain a good keto diet but I still indulge in snacks which I need to stop if I want to get fit again.
The best part of my activity was a nice 3 mile hike on the trails that run through the scrubby hills between us and the mountains nearby.

Lulu hasn't hiked this area yet so she was ready to go once I reached the trailhead just a mile and a half away. Several cyclists were riding the route but it was easy to step aside to let them pass and 3 other groups passed by and gave Lulu so attention that she just loves.
The trail was dry but there were plenty of piles of what I think was coyote poop so Lulu was stopping often to check out the smells.

Despite the proximity to the town there were few sounds of civilization except for the occasional buzz of an airplane from the nearby little airfield. Instead we heard lots of jays chattering in the trees and the occasional finches singing away.
A lovely late winter day and hopefully the weather will stay nice (rain or snow in the hills would be good though to help replenish the water supply).
I hope all my Actifit friends had a great weekend.
