Nice relaxing day - My Actifit Report Card: January 13 2026
I did manage an easy 5 km run this morning along the nearby Blowout Trail that didn't tax my endurance too much but the best thing today was a beautiful 4 mile walk along the Verde River trails down around Old Town Cottonwood.

The trail was slippery after the warmer weather so I had to tread gingerly in the slick spots around the numerous turns so the pace was slower which made the effort more enjoyable. The route was wasn't too difficult so I have to keep trying to up my effort to increase my capabilities for more distance.
The sun was shining and the afternoon beautiful when we parked in town and headed down the street to the city access to the Verde River trail network.

A couple of people were enjoying the same trails but soon we were alone as we walked along the easy dirt trails that wind through the river flood plain with plenty of birds for company (even spotted a little hummingbird in the bushes) with towering cottonwood trees overhead.

It was an easy stroll as the route was flat and the soft dirt was nice and dry. Except for an occasional horn from town the walk was quiet - just a nice noise from the gently flowing river - and plenty of things for both Lulu and me to enjoy.
