The native ACU token serves as the economic foundation of the network through three primary functions. It acts as a medium of exchange, allowing developers to pay for computation and deployment orchestration. It also supports a staked compute pool, where processors and delegators stake ACU to secure computational capacity, improve capital efficiency, and discourage malicious behavior through slashing mechanisms. In addition, the protocol maintains a predictable annual inflation rate of 5% to sustain the ecosystem. Of this issuance, 70% is distributed to the Staked Compute Pool to reward long-term stakers, 10% funds Base Benchmark Rewards for hardware providers, 15% replenishes the on-chain treasury, and the remaining 5% compensates block producers, known as collators.
