Subic was an important Navy Base during WWII.

Baloy Long Beach

The beach is located at Baloy Long Beach Rd, Olongapo, 2200 Zambales. From my previews post shows how to get to Subic.
While the beach is scenic and beautiful but there is a lot of trash. This was probably our biggest complaint for the area. During the weekend it got kind of crowded and many people left their trash on the beach including glass bottles and dirty baby diapers. We really wish people had more respect for the beaches. Trash and dirty beaches take its toll on tourism. A dirty beach leaves a bad impression and will cause many potential tourists to not come back. Loosing tourists take money out of that local economy. Which reduces job opportunities for local and makes everyone poorer over the long term.

We walked the beach a couple times a day and I always feel sad everytime I see the trash. There is a small river the flows out on to Baloy Beach. A lot of trash comes from the river and gets washed onto the beach from the river also. The color of the sand is not while like Boracay it is more like a mud color. However, the beach is still beautiful with the sunsets and mountains in the distance. It is worth visiting. It is also nice to run on the beach in the morning before it gets too hot. The length of the beach is enough to make you sweat. We walked towards the end next to the river and there is some old concrete piers there. I'm guessing its from world war 2 or back in the day from the Navy Base.

Many more people come to Baloy Beach on the weekends. We were kind of surprised by how many. It seemed like mostly Filipino with groups and families. Some of the resorts have videoke machines that many Filipino like to use to sing loudly on the beach. There are also water sports like Jet Ski and banana boats available on the beach. It is nice to play Frisbee but we send it back to my parents together with the blue bag after Puerto Galera :(

While walking on the beach we saw these guys that were messing with a tiny dog. The tiny dog was angry that they were acting crazy so the small dog started to bite one guy on his legs. The guy started to run away and the little dog was chasing him down the beach until he ran into the water. Everyone on the beach was laughing. It was so funny if you want to see I will link it at the bottom.

Blue Rock Restaurant

We mostly ate at the Blue Rock restaurant for breakfast and early dinner. The food is good with large portions. The prices are a bit expensive because it is a hotel restaurant right on the beach. I am now starting to try to post of the prices of the food. The Blue Rock also has a floating bar right in front of the resort about 50m offshore. We didn't try the bar since we're not big drinkers. We usually spend most of the day in the restaurant doing Steemit and editing videos. It is nice to work with the beautiful ocean views and sunsets. On some windy days sand was blowing off the beach on to our laptops so we would head to the room and wait for better weather. The room also had excellent WiFi. The service in the restaurant was very good almost every time for us. The hotel will set you to a tour if you want. We were only there for a week and mostly relaxed so we did not take any tours.

This kitty cat was begging and we gave him food but he doesn't eat. We figure that his thirsty and we gave him a milk. He finished a small cup of milk and begging some more. I think this cats was looking for water everywhere and its hard to find unless someone feed him.

Wild Orchid Restaurant

Wild Orchids Hotel restaurant is one of the few restaurants in the area. They have good food and good location. There is also a Wild Orchid restaurant right on the beach. This is part of the same resort but we tried the restaurant in the main resort. Wild Orchid is the biggest resort in Baloy beach. There are two ATM machines BDO and BPI right next to the hotel reception. These ATMs take international cards. Wild Orchid is a 2 min walk from Blue Rock Resort. The restaurant has a view of the very large pool. The biggest swimming pool I've seen at any resort so far.

Harleys Bar

Harleys is a hotel restaurant with rooms priced starting at $24 as I remembered on Agoda.
The restaurant only seemed to have a few choice on the menu but the food we order was great. We ordered some beer and Pytt I Panna a Swedish Special. This was our favorite food on Baloy Beach. We tried some dessert also. Our table was on the deck directly overlooking the ocean.
There is a tiny beach that you can swim if you stayed.

Wild Orchid and Harley's were both very good but we had some bad timing with Harley bar. The next time we went to eat, they were having a staff party so no food was available. The next day we went, there was a billiards tournament. The place was packed and the servers did not get to us after 25 minutes so we left.

When someone took a photo of you while your concentrating on your work. Then you will look and this photo captured with the messy background. I think I'm not ugly so I posted :)

After staying at for a week we are going back to Clark Angeles City for our flight to Boracay. Going back to Olongapo bus terminal we had 3 choices. First, the Blue Rock resort has a shuttle service going to Olongapo bus terminal for 450 pesos. Second, you can take a tricycle to bus terminal just negotiate the driver for the price. Third, you can walked to the main road and take a jeepney going to Olongapo bus terminal. All the jeepneys that past by are on the way to terminal for 12 pesos. We had bags and paid the extra to take the taxi but we should have taken the tricycle.

Baloy Beach Subic has a lot of potential but it still needs some development and cleaning. It is a good weekend trip from Manila or Angeles as long as you know what you're getting into.

Watch the video for the full documentary of my trip to Subic Bay Philippines.

Nice would love to see Baloy beautiful beaches great job on this one :) & i hear you on the trash thing seems looters are everywhere tbh

I feel bad when people throw their trash on the beach ..

people should have more recycled bins there more places to throw the trash

Yes that would be good but I haven't seen any trash bin in the area as I remembered..
