Finally the summer arrived in Hamburg! Yesterday a group of friends and I went to check out the Planetarium. Before we got there, we spent some time in the famous Stadtpark, where the Planetarium is located. It is a really big park, with a lot of green and water. The park is very clean and very well taken care of by gardeners.

One of the reasons why I love Hamburg so much, is that you have a lot of green areas and water around you, but at the same time you can enjoy the perks of the city life. The weather really couldn´t have been any better. We had a few beers and had so much fun!

When we arrived at the Planetarium I was amazed by the building. I think it looks really cool!

They had an elevator that took you to the roof top. The elevator looked really cool inside, with a starlight roof and blacklight. We just had to take a selfie! haha

From the roof top you had a stunning view over whole Hamburg. That part alone justifies a visit at the Planetarium!

The main thing to do at the Planetarium, is to see a documentary style video, with varying topics about space. A huge projector in the middle of the room gets the image on a huge 360 degree screen. You are sitting in cinema chairs, that fold back all the way, so you can stare at the "horizon" where the screen is. The 3D effect of the projector and the powerful sound system, provide a great atmosphere.

All in all it was a perfect day and a great experience. If you are ever in Hamburg, check it out!

Thanks for reading! ;-)

Thanks Robbie! Really is a special place!

Ah dude, I remember going to the planetarium in Johannesburg when I was really young. It's a phenomenal experience. I remember they showed the stars from the highest mountain on earth and then what they look like from Mars. (hint: millions and millions more stars)

Thanks for reminding me of one of my favorite memories.

Thanks for your comment! I felt like it put everything in another perspective, how small the earth and humanity really is. Like, we worry about all this shit but when you really think about it, it wont really mater in the end... ;-)

Yeah totally. Although the way you describe it reminds me of the Total Perspective Vortex from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
