Hi Everyone,

Welcome to another week of Captains Candidates.

This article was in danger of being redundant with Tom Mitchell basically having a mortgage on the C from the majority of dream teams around the country.

Well Mr Mitchell showed he is only human with a score of just 83 last week (166 as captain).

Before we write the great man off, I will point out it is very unlikely Mitchell will put two bad ones up in a row and he still remains an obvious Captain choice for this week.

It was however a timely reminder that he can play a bad one from time to time and it is worth considering others for the all important Captaincy each week.

So after Mitchell, my next best 4 Captaincy choices for this week are as follows.

S Coniglo (GWS) vs St Kilda at Etihad Stadium

Coniglio has been in terrific form for GWS this season and scored 121 against Fremantle last week in another strong performance.

The Saints are struggling this season and GWS midfield could feast out this week.

He had a 115 last time he played the Saints and barring a possible Jack Steele tag, I would expect a score even bigger this time around in the perfect conditions of Etihad Stadium.

Nat Fyfe (Fremantle) vs Western at Optus Stadium

Only a 91 from Fyfe last week in a tough match away against GWS but the week before in the comforts of home at Optus Stadium he put up a 144 against a hapless Suns side.

Fyfe's form this season has been ominous and he is building back to his very best.

Fyfe will enjoy being back at home this week against a loose checking Doggies midfield and I expect a big week from the great man.

J Lyons (Gold Coast) vs Brisbane at the Gabba

A bit of a left field selection here but this guy has taken his game to another level this season.

Lyons was already emerging as an A grade Fantasy option last year but scores of 134 and 151 in consecutive rounds (2 & 3) this year is really pushing him into elite category now.

A score around the 150 mark is definitely on the cards again this week against a Lions midfield that doesn't tag.

Lyons could be a great point of difference midfielder to draft into your classic side this week and putting the C on him could be a stroke of genius.

D Heppell (Essendon) vs Collingwood at the MCG

Heppell is back to his 2016 best form this year and is just getting touches at will again.

He is fast becoming a must have midfielder in all Fantasy teams and put in another fine performance last weekend for a score of 123.

At the G against the Pies in a blockbuster Anzac Day match, Heppell will be a popular choice with punters for the Anzac medal. I expect a big match from him this weekend and he could be a great alternative to Mitchell this round.

Best of Luck with your Captain choice and your league match up this weekend in a very long round that won't wrap up until after the Anzac game on Wednesday.

Be sure to check back in a few hours for our injury update.
