Speaking at the monthly staff birthday celebration, popularly known as 'Happy Hour', Mr. Jacob, represented by the Executive Director, Other Investments, Mr. Usen Effiong, emphasized that AKICORP's visibility depends on staff effectively communicating the state's investment activities and aspirations.
Mr. Effiong disclosed that management has compiled a brochure to equip staff with relevant information, enabling them to properly engage investors and stakeholders on the corporation's activities and investment prospects in the state. This initiative is expected to enhance the corporation's outreach and attract more investors to Akwa Ibom State.
The brochure will serve as a valuable resource for staff, providing them with the necessary tools to showcase the state's investment opportunities and promote economic growth.
In his remarks, Mr. Effiong advised departments and units to review their work plans and submit innovative ideas that would strengthen AKICORP's operations and align them with the state's development agenda, as approved by the Governor.
He also called for early planning of programmes, such as "Christmas Unplugged", noting that timely planning would create room for improvement and help attract more investors to the state.
This proactive approach is expected to yield positive results and contribute to the state's economic development.
Mr. Effiong assured staff of the MD/CEO's commitment to improved welfare and provision of necessary work tools to enhance service delivery.
He expressed optimism that the year would record greater achievements than the previous year, adding that monthly management meetings with heads of departments and units were designed to evaluate and appraise performance across the corporation
The Executive Director solicited the cooperation of staff with their respective heads to ensure optimal performance and institutional growth.
The birthday celebrants, Mr. Ekemini, R. Udoh, AKICORP driver, and the Director of Human Resources and General Administration, Mr. Ekpedeme Sambo, expressed gratitude to God for the gift of life and appreciated the Managing Director and management for prioritising staff welfare and fostering unity within the AKICORP family.The celebration was marked with singing, dancing, and merriment, as staff came together to mark the special day.
The event highlighted the importance of teamwork, unity, and staff welfare in driving the corporation's success. As AKICORP continues to promote investment and economic growth in Akwa Ibom State, the role of staff as ambassadors of the corporation has never been more critical
