The Diary Game [08/11/25] : A very busy Saturday I can't forget

On the 8th day of November 2025, I went to the church just as I always do every Saturdays to attend Altar Servers rehearsals and also partake in cleanup. That particular day after the cleanup we didn't do any rehearsal because there was going to be a burial mass in the church that morning.Walk with me as I tell you the complete activities of that day.

Morning Period

I was so busy in the morning at home because I was trying to prepare a report I will present in the meeting I was going to have the following day in another catholic church. I'm supposed to have prepared it before that day but I was extremely busy during the week and no matter how busy I was that morning I forcefully created out that to prepare it because that's my last chance to do so.

I finished preparing it and I kept it in my bag, after the burial mass I will take it to a cybercafe to type and print it. I finally left the house and headed straight to the church. The environment was very calm and I was surprised because Saturday mornings is often noisy. You will see children playing here and there because they aren't going to school on Saturdays.

When I arrived near the church I saw the burial poster and I glanced at the woman's age. She died at the age of 70 which isn't bad because she lived quite long. There was only one car in the church compound and I said to myself that once the burial mass wants to start, more cars will be in the church compound. I also saw someone praying at the grotto spot and I didn't think much about that, I just went straight to wear my members were. They said they have finished washing and I had to supervise what they have done before I organized those that will be serving the burial mass.

Afternoon Period

The woman's corpse was brought to the church premises and alot of people were already in the church. We were patiently waiting for our Reverend father to come out from the parish house so that the mass can begin immediately. I passed some important information to the boys serving the mass so that they won't make some unnecessary mistakes and I didn't want to attend the mass because I needed to type and print the report but my instinct kept on insisting that I stay till the mass ends.

The mass finally started and I stood at the back with two other altar servers that weren't serving the mass but they came for the cleanup. Even when we were about to leave after the mass began we saw a particular woman that just came down from her car and rushed inside the church. I looked at where her car was parked and I was surprised to see that she didn't close the door.

I wondered why and I told one of the boys with me to meet her and tell her that she didn't close her car. He said that maybe she purposely did it and I told him that is better to just tell her at least and he did. Few seconds later the woman came out from the church keeping a funny face and this made me know that she forgot to close her car because her reaction showed that within herself she knew she has messed up, lol. I wonder what she has been thinking that made her to forget something like that.

Like I said I finally attended the mass and when it was over, our Reverend father, the Catechist and two Altar Servers went to the woman's residence to proceed with the finally stage of the burial ceremony. I took a picture of the big jeep where the dead woman's casket was kept and when everyone except the two boys that were with me, left we locked the church doors and windows then gave the keys to our Reverend father's cook.

Evening Period

I went to the cybercafe late in the afternoon but when I reached there the man said his generator us bad and he is waiting patiently for someone to come and fix the problem in it. He gave me a laptop to start typing the report while waiting for the generator to be fixed. One of the boys was with me and we discussed while typing the report I asked him to remind me of one of our challenges when we get to the spot where we do write out our challenges.

After reasoning together we finally added Poor attendance of members during deanery meetings, to the challenges. We finished it and saved the work then we were given a flash drive to transfer it to one of the system there and it was printed out then I paid less money because I was the one that typed it myself. I finally left the place with the guy with me and we parted ways to our various homes hoping to meet in the church again the next day. I arrived home that evening and barbed my father's hair after eating then I rested for a while and started doing somethings with my phone.
