Pets are tamed animals which we keep for pleasure or companionship. They are animals we can live without notwithstanding the fact that they can provide us with some basic things we lack in our lives on daily basis.

Below are a few reasons why we all should own at least one pet in our homes.

1.They provide Companionship & Love

I know you all will agree with me that our pets give us some kind of affection that is overwhelming. They sometimes behave as humans and love us the more we live together with them.

2. Some pets give us some kind of protection from criminals

Let me use this opportunity to talk about my favourite pet, the Dog. Dogs are animals that when we have as pets take care of our property even when we are away from home. They also protect our precious lives by scaring, driving away criminal and most of the time attack unfamiliar guest who visit our homes without our concern.

3. Pets make us responsible for something

When you get yourself any pet, it becomes a responsibility of you to cater/care for it. You give it food, water, etc. When they are sick or need medication you are suppose to take them to Veterinary hospital for proper checkup and medication. This put a task on the pet owners and in the end making them responsible for whatever animal they have in their custody.

4. Some pets are our source of Entertainment

I remember not long ago a video i saw on a friends whatsapp status which had a dog barking alongside any music it hears playing. It was very pleasant to see and you can imagine the laughter you will have if you have a dog like that.

5. Pets help mankind to learn how to relate to all kinds of animals

Pets rearing in our homes give us the opportunity to learn about different kinds of animals and what they stand for. With this knowledge we are able to relate with most pets in many different ways.
