Traveling To Bandarban

Places to visit in Bandarban district are: 1. Nilgiris, 2. Golden Temple, 3. Cloudy, 4. Rock Falls, 5. Nilachal, 6. Milnachhari, 6. Chimbuk, 6. Sangu river, 9. Tajindong, 10. Keokradong, 11. Jadipai spring, 12. Bagalek, 13. Mirinja Tourist Complex, 14. Marginal Lake, 15. Straight waterfall, 17. Nafakhum Falls. Besides, there are some Jhiri in Bandarban. Such as: Shrimp Jhiri, Patang Jhiri, Rumanapara Jhiri.
It is not possible to see so many places together. However, from the town of Bandban, you can visit 7 surrounding areas - Golden Temple, Nilgiri, Meghla, Nilachal, Shail Prapat, Milnachhari and Chimbuk.
From any other place in the country, first by train or bus to Chittagong, then from Bahaddarhat bus terminal to Bandarban directly. And there is a direct bus service from Dhaka to Bandarban.
Direct from Dhaka: From Arambagh to Shyamoli, Eagle, Unique bus service goes directly to Bandarban. The rent is 600 to 750 rupees per person.
Bandarban via Chittagong: To go to Bandarban from any part of the country, you have to go to Chittagong first. You have to take a bus from Bahaddarhat terminal to Bandarban. There are various bus services. The bus leaves every 30 minutes. The rent is 200 to 250 Taka per person.
Where to stay: There are several hotels in Bandarban Sadar. These are- Hotel Green Land, Hotel Hilton, Hotel River View, Hotel East, Hotel Plaza etc. Hotel Paradise is also located next to the Bandarban bus stand. Nilgiri car leaves from in front of this hotel. The advantage of this hotel is that it can accommodate 8 to 10 people in a 4 bed flat.
Nilgiri
Nilgiris is the highest tourist destination in Bangladesh. Its height is about 3 thousand feet. It is located in Thanchi upazila of Bandarban district. The tourist center is located 45 km southeast of Bandarban district headquarters. Next to this mountain is Mro Palli, the mostneglected tribal community in Bangladesh. Like seeing those diverse cultures. There is a rare opportunity to touch the clouds from the Nilgiri tourist center during the monsoon season. Sunrise and sunset can be seen from Nilgiris in the dry season. It is the most beautiful and modern tourist center of Bandarban. Which is conducted under the supervision of the army. Next to it there is an army camp. Most of the tourists return day by day as the communication system from Bandarban district headquarters to Nilgiri tourist center has improved. Jeep, Land Rover, Land Cruiser and other light vehicles are also available for rent from Bandarban Jeep Station. On the way to Nilgiris, the names and addresses of the tourists have to be recorded at the army check post. No vehicles are allowed to leave Nilgiris from Bandarban district headquarters after 5 pm. Golden Temple
It is a Buddhist temple or pagoda. Another name for it is 'Mahasukh Prarthana Purak Buddhadhatu Cheti'. However, it is better known as the Golden Temple. It is located in the pool area of Balaghata, a suburb of Bandarban. Its distance from Bandarban district headquarters is 4 kilometers. Built on the top of a high hill, this beautiful golden temple is actually a holy place of pilgrimage for Buddhists. As the name implies, its color is golden. Many Buddhists from home and abroad come here to pray. Here is one of the best Buddha statues in the world built in the contemporary of Gautama Buddha. This Buddhist temple or pagoda is one of the best pagodas in Southeast Asia. There is a pond on the hill which is known as Devata pond. This pagoda offers a beautiful view of the Balaghata suburb of Bandarban and its surroundings. Apart from this, it is very interesting to see the winding road from Bandarban to Chandraghona. This pagoda is an example of modern religious architecture. Fairs are held here at certain times of the year. The pagoda is open to priests all day and is open to visitors of different faiths from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Megla tourist center
It is located in the area adjacent to the Hill District Council on the side of Bandarban Keranihat Road to enter Bandarban town. An artificial lake has been created by constructing a dam in the valley of the hill. The distance of this center from Bandarban city is 4 kilometers. For the entertainment of the visiting tourists, there is a children's park, boating facilities, access to the suspension bridge and a rest house for temporary accommodation. Also an interesting zoo has multiplied the beauty of this center. It is managed under the overall supervision of Bandarban District Administration.
Nilachal and Shuvranila
These two tourist centers are located side by side near Tiger Para, the entrance of Bandarban district headquarters. These two tourist centers are operated under the overall supervision of Nilachal District Administration and Shuvranila Bandarban Hill District Council. The height of Nilachal is about 1800 feet. It is located 5 km away from Bandarban district headquarters. It is very pleasant to see the surrounding area from these two tourist centers built on this hill.
Chimbuk
The third largest mountain in Bangladesh. Chimbuk is a well-known name all over the country. Chimbuk hill is located 28 km from Bandarban district town. It is about 2500 feet above sea level. The view of the hills on both sides of the road to Chimbuk is very beautiful. On the way, Sangu river falls in sight. When you go through the highest road of Bangladesh in the middle of the mountains, you will feel that you are crossing the moon by car. Standing at an altitude of 2500 feet, Chimbu will see this amazing natural landscape. Standing on the hill, you will see the raft of clouds floating down. The surrounding districts of Cox's Bazar and various upazilas of Chittagong can be seen from here. In the rainy season, looking at the clouds floating along the side of the hill, it seems that Chimbuk is the paradise of clouds.
As Chimbuk is located in the remote hilly area of Thanchi Road, no hotel or restaurant has been built here. There is a resthouse under the supervision of the Deputy Commissioner. There is an opportunity to spend the night with the permission of the Deputy Commissioner. There is an army canteen next to Chimbuk. Breakfast and lunch are available here. Besides, there are two tourist centers named Milnachhari and Shakura on the way from Bandarban to Chimbuk for food. However, it is best to leave Bandarban with light food and other essentials.
To reach Chimbuk, one has to hire a jeep, Land Cruiser, Land Rover, Pajero and Bandarban-Thanchi from Ruma bus station in Bandarban (special bus which is able to travel on inaccessible mountain roads). It is risky to travel by bus as the road is quite inaccessible. No vehicles ply on the Chimbuk-Thanchi road after 5 pm. So tourists should return by 5 p.m.
Soilo Propat
The cliff is located 6 km from Bandarban Ruma Road. It is a marvelous creation of natural beauty. The icy water of the fountain is flowing here all the time. The water of this fountain is very clear. Although the view of this waterfall can be seen during the rainy season, it is very difficult to get down to the waterfall. Most of the year is full of domestic and foreign tourists. Due to the location of the cliff on the side of the road, a large number of tourists can be seen here. Here one can witness the struggling life of the indigenous Bom community nestled in the lap of inaccessible hills. From Bandarban city, you can go to the cliffs by renting a car or a jeep.
Milnachhari
Milnachhari falls 3 km south-east of Bandarban town on the way to Shailprapat or Chimbuk. There is a police patrol here. Standing on the side of the road at the very top of the hill, you can see the unobstructed green game at the eastern end and the enchanting river called Sangu flowing in a spiraling motion through the green nature.
It takes four to five days to visit these places. It is best to travel at night and reach Bandarban in the morning. And from there leave in the afternoon and come back. In this way, it is possible to visit these places in Bandarban in two days. Renting a jeep around these areas will cost around taka 6,000. A jeep It takes four to i seat 8 to 10 people.
