Thursday Some historic buildings here including the New Bedford armoury

Today I will share a post about the New Bedford Armoury, an eye-catching building for sure.

With the early sunrise, I have often finished my first photo walk of the day, and it's still fairly early so I have been heading to catch some historic buildings in the area, which leads to today's post

I was actually looking to find a historic house in the area that I had read about, but had not luck with that and happened to walk and see this in the distance, so I walked and took a few shots of it.

I did find a couple of cool historic properties nearby and will share them at the end of the post

You can’t mistake those iconic castle-like towers if you live here in New Bedford . Whether you drive past it every day or you're just admiring the historic brickwork, the New Bedford Armory is a true local landmark. Grabbed a few shots of this beauty today!
Built in 1904, the old National Guard Armory at 5 Sycamore Street is one of only two remaining structures of its kind left in Massachusetts.

The stunning, castle-like building anchors itself to the street corner with its massive granite towers, hiding a giant 12,000+ square foot drill hall just behind it. It’s impossible not to stop and admire the incredible craftsmanship of this century-old landmark.
