ARCHITECTURE SCIENCE _ Familiar with Futuristic Architecture
Futuristic architecture emerged in the early 20th century in Italy. This architectural style itself is actually part of Futurism, an art movement invented by a poet named Filippo Tommaso Marinetti in 1909. This movement not only attracted poets, musicians and artists such as Umberto Boccioni or Giacomo Bela, but also attracted numerous architects.
Futuristic means to lead or to the future. Futuristic on the building illustrates that the planning and construction is not based on something related to the past, but trying to portray the future. Buildings must be able to follow and accommodate the demands of activities that must always evolve.
Futuristic architecture takes advantage of advancements in the technological era using new materials such as steel, glass, and aluminum. Less is more, simple is an added value to the architecture while the addition of ornaments is considered as an inefficient thing. Nihilism, emphasis design to the space or space, then the design becomes plain, simple, with the use of glass width. The type of material used is exposed in a plain and displayed as is.
In Futuristic architecture, the concept of design does not depend on certain rules and tends to be free to take any form while still in the concept of the future. The resulting form tends to be surprising, unusual, and often even bizarre. It's the same with today's building forms that might be considered weird by people in the past.
