Ulog 186: Homemade Dog Treats Recipe

They are super easy to make and in my mind, healthier for the dogs. Yes, I do buy certain treats for certain times of the day- like bedtime, but these are my go-to cookie treats for my little gals.

Recipe
- 2-cups regular flour
- 1-cup wheat flour
- 2-tablespoons oil (I use avocado)
- 1/4-cup peanut butter, pureed carrots or pumpkin (I've used baby food for this in the past)
- 1-cup water
Mix all ingredients together until the dough is smooth and forms a ball, Roll out on a flour covered area; making sure to keep the dough thickness at about 1/4-inch. Cut out in desired shape and place on a parchment paper lined cookie sheet. Bake for 22-25 minutes at 350-degrees. They will keep for about 7-10 days in a cookie jar; but trust me, they never last that long.
This recipe will make about 5-6 dozen cookie treats depending on the cookie cutter used.

Great idea @goldendawne, if I had dogs, this would be something I might like to try. Thanks for sharing your recipe. Sounds almost good enough for us to eat (I see no reason why not 🍕
Great idea! I will make some of these this weekend for my pups! Thanks for the recipe!
