David Cata, the Painter Who Make a Painting By Sewing His Own Palm Hand
Artists' paintings usually use media such as paper canvases, boards, or light paint using films in photography. Usually the works of the paintings are on display at an art gallery or art exhibition. Even paintings can be purchased by visitors who are interested to the artist artworks.
Then, what if the painting is made on the artist's palm? of course it is unique and never seen before. Well, a Spanish artist, named David Cata, uses his own palm to paint portraits of the face of someone he considers important and influential in his life. Like the face of family, friends, teachers or girlfriend.
According to David, this painting art using the hand palm is part of his art project called Overexposed Emotion. Where through this embroidery artwork illustrates the people who are considered important and he loved in his life. The design of the face used should show everyone he has ever met and had a relationship in his life.
The tools David uses to make this painting are needles and threads, like the material for sewing clothes. David began to paint by piercing the needle through the outermost surface of his palm skin. It took him about four hours to complete a face painting in his palm.
The results of David's suture was seen in great detail, not just using a single color. But it also blends several colors to give a colorful painting. Even after the painting is finished, the stitches will be peeled to draw another face shape. Despite leaving a blood wound in the palm of his hand. David admitted he didn't feel the pain because he just sewed the surface of his skin, and did not bother him at all.
"Everyone I've ever met has created a memory in my head, with their faces pain not a boundary," --David to Daylimail Page.
