Covet and Envy. A Painting in Oils.

I find the idea of phrenology interesting, but more for its visual impact and for its status as a curious relic of history.

The lines on the figure's head are loosely based on classical phrenology. I pierced the canvas area around the eyes, and glued two CDs to the back of the canvas to create the shimmering effect. I wrote the words 'Covet' and 'Envy' on each eye.

The lips are sewn shut with steel wires to show that the figure suffers its unfulfilled desires in silence.
