Finally i have finished this experiment painting, i used one of my old canvas that i used for one of my gold leaf experiment. I used different colored metallic pigments on this painting, namely white pearl, blue, black and gold, and made a yin and yan design out of it.

I like working on resin, its like making liquid art, very unpredictable on what it would look like when it hardened, and it takes overnight to dry out so its better to work in batches. The process of mixing resin has 2 parts and its a 1:1 ratio that you have to mix continuously for at least 3 minutes. It will create a lot of small bubbles due to the mixing, and theres 3 ways to eliminate the bubble when already applied to a surface, either you spray it with acetone or use a straw to blow on it or using a torch lighter which is my favorite. Then it takes about 30 to 45 minutes to start to harden.

Here is my process when i was done adding the pigmented resin on canvas

With my first layer i already defined how the fish will look like, unlike using bowls i use less layers in this process as i dint want it to get too thick when its finally done, i used 3 layer of paint in this process. Acrylics are so easy to use in this process, as it is water based and if you make a mistake you just smudge it or use a wet cloth to erase or change whatever you painted on the surface, and also it dries out really quickly, I haven’t really tried oil paint yet, but probably would on my next experimentation with resin.

On my second layer i added more details on the eyes and scales, i did not went through with the fins so it would kinda have a depth in it, thenadded some branches so later on i can add some cherry blossoms.

It took me 4 sessions for this and after my 3rd session i kinda stopped painting for 2 months, it was just busy this year of moving to our new home, all renovations and stuff, so anyway, even after months its still ok to put another layer, i just made sure it was dust free before applying the last layer.
