Found some more Jesus statues in the middle of a field
I haven't seen the inside of a church in many years but I am familiar with the stations of the cross and how almost every Catholic church I have been in in my life has had them.
These marble statues were just sitting on the side of the road in an area of town that is known for their custom marble statues and I am surprised that they are just sitting here unmolested. Where I come from some jerks would probably destroy them for the sake of destroying something within a few days of them being put there unless they were monitored 24/7.

I'm not a religious person, but I do appreciate good art and to me, if someone truly did do this by hand with power tools than I am seriously impressed. I do believe these were hand carved because the area doesn't have a factory big enough to have mass-produced these.

There does appear to be something similar way back there in the background. Vietnam is not a massively Christian nation so I am wondering who these are for. I only know one Catholic Vietnamese person but she wouldn't be buying this. Maybe this was an order for one of the churches or something and they are sitting down here by the side of the road waiting to be picked up.

I don't think you need to be religious to have an appreciation for this sort of work but also to have an appreciation for the people in this area. This makes me think yet again about how awful the people in my home country can be. This would at least be vandalized in my home country in a short amount of time. Given the amount of street art and downright spray vandalism that exists even here in Da Nang it kind of shows that there must be at least some level of respect for private property here, perhaps even a bit more if it is on a religious level.

I have never seen one of these statues inside of any building I have been in here in Da Nang so perhaps these businesses, and there are a LOT of them in this area, must deal with customers that are all over the country.
The Marble Mountain is a popular tourism destination that is very nearby where these statues are stored and I guess unlike other tourist places they aren't completely full of crap about the composition of the earth here. Otherwise this sort of craftsmanship wouldn't be possible.
Seriously, there are so many marble statues just lying around that in other areas they are just sitting on the side of the road everywhere. I think that if I actually had a house that I would probably want one. However, even though this is Vietnam I would imagine that they are quite expensive.
