"The Monastery" - acrylic on board (original painting)
"When someone seeks," said Siddhartha, "then it easily happens that his eyes see only the thing that he seeks, and he is able to find nothing, to take in nothing because he always thinks only about the thing he is seeking, because he has one goal, because he is obsessed with his goal. Seeking means: having a goal. But finding means: being free, being open, having no goal."
-- Hermann Hesse, Siddhartha

My eyes trace the "shoulders" of the cliff side, in an enjoyable journey to the valley below.
The flow on this piece is soothing, I like the contrast of sun-lit green against the cold rocky face.
Thank you @talltim!

"You have a knack for learning, Siddhartha, for He also learns this: love can be begged, bought, received as a gift or picked up on the street but stealing is impossible!"
Yes, it's a beautiful book full of wisdom! Thank you!
When I first opened this post I could almost see the cloud moving...
The monastery is mysteriously dark, like the internal darkness, the mystery of one's souls, the questions that frustrate us and we're so anxiously trying to answer. But above all that lies this lovely greenery, this idea of life and hope and optimism!
Wisdom and serenity, those are the most spot on words to describe my feelings when I see your painting!
Thanks again @ruth-girl!
