I titled this piece:

"The calm man"

The lines around his eyes
weren’t drawn by age alone.
They were shaped by hope held for long,

He’s the kind of person
who learned early
That life doesn’t clap for effort.
That sometimes you do everything right
and still have to wait your turn.

Yet he stayed.
He kept showing up.
Even when progress felt slow,
even when doubt whispered
that maybe this was all there was.

Look closely
that expression isn’t sadness.
It’s endurance.
It’s the face of someone who knows
that storms don’t last forever,
even when they feel endless.

He’s not asking for pity.
He’s not begging for wayout.
He’s just trusting time
to eventually tell the truth.
and heal his pain.

Because what’s meant for you
doesn’t rush past you.
It waits.
It grows gently in the background
until you’re ready to carry it.

Keep going.
Keep believing.
Keep becoming.

Your time will come
not because you begged for it,
but because you earned it
by refusing to give up.

And when it finally arrives,
it will fit you perfectly,
like it was waiting for you all along.
