I have started many paintings that end up partially done, in my back room. Sometimes I need to think on them a while.... or just forget them.
Some time back I was looking through some photos and saw this one that I got this far on.... well.... I don't know how long ago. On that particular day, it made me happy to see it's little funky self and I wondered if I had painted over it. I couldn't remember.
Since the covid crap started (LOL !!) I have been working from home and my work desk needed to be in that backroom where all the waiting art and canvases stay. In moving things around, vwa-la.... there was the half finished whimsical painting. I was kind of happy to see it.
Now, I know what is good art or bad art is in the eye of the beholder and that is the way it should be, since we are all different, but once I had found it, I brought it out into my living room where I could see it and ponder on how it needed to be finished.
One night I was watching TV and as the painting caught my eye and I stared at it for a few minutes, the silly thought came to me "If that had Picasso's name on the bottom, it would be worth MILLIONS.... just like it sits now... unfinished and all and we wouldn't really know if he considered it unfinished or not ! If you saw it in a museum with his name, you would like it or not like it, (or ask yourself what all the hubbub was about his art??)....but either way, you would know it was worth millions.
Funny how the content of a piece of art is not really in whether it is good or bad or just plain funky, but who signed it.
I wonder if I could get him to sign this one. ha ha
While I was cropping it down, I copied it with a couple of black and white filters. Below are a few of those.
Thought it was fun to see the different details each brought out.

Isnt that the case with lots of things, ie brands. Take a plain shoe and no one wants it. Put a swoosh on it and it is worth hundreds. People are crazy!
