Hi guys, I am back with a new painting.

This is "General Yue Fei"

He was a Han Chinese military general who lived during the Southern Song dynasty. He is best known for leading Southern Song forces in the wars in the 12th century between Southern Song and the Jurchen-ruled Jin dynasty in northern China before being put to death by the Southern Song government in 1142.

My thoughts

I had a lot of fun painting this piece. You can easily find lots of references over the internet. I tried to capture him in glory , with his shinning armor under the strong evening sun. He led his army behind. I must say it is a bit hard to paint all the armors in details. I needed to break them down carefully. I guess I will have to study more on the armors.
