I remember when I first came across my first art post which was here on steemit. I've always had a penchant for art and seeing one really fascinated me and immediately piqued my interest. The cloud of curiosity that engulfed me and how I immediately searched for tutorials.

Thanks to people like @camzy who set me on this path. Because it actually started with me seeing one of his posts and admiring it. Then he gave a couple of tutorials that spurred me into action. I started from there, It was January 2018. I started practicing relentlessly and I made a few of 'em artworks, which were no where near average but I still persisted.

I did most of my works for free then, but on the bright side, I steadily improved overtime. I gradually changed my method and I saw significant changes. Each art became better than the last like so

2018 in retrospect

I started by using softlight by trying to blend in with the original image. Vector art then came into the picture which I easily incorporated into my works. Although Autodesk sketchbook was not really made for vector art, I was still able to squeeze it in. A software like infinite design was the perfect one for it but I didn't enjoy its reception, the tools are beyond amazing though.

The reason I later dropped vector art is that I actually had alot of terrible outcomes which far outweighs the exceptional ones. I faced the issue of resemblance which is a crucial factor that discouraged me from continuing on that part. I think I missed some key elements that are essential in making clean and quality vector arts. I'm still looking to delve into this field in the nearest future.

I moved to skin realism by adopting some hitherto ignored textures. The outcome was amazing and the big break came in July this year when I took it a notch higher. The natural problem is the issue of time as it takes a lot of time but at the end of it, it is worth the while and the end justifies the means.

This year, I'll hope to make cartoon works than can leave people wondering If I actually did it with a mobile phone. I want to give pc cartoonist a run for their money and I want to bring all the qualities to my artworks. I have all the tools at my disposal, I just have to utilize it.
