Van Gogh's work is expected to be sold for millions of euros
A landscape of impressionist Dutchman Vincent Van Gogh, displayed in Paris on Wednesday, is expected to be sold by 3-5 million euros when it comes out in June.
This will be the first time Van Gogh's work is sold in France for more than two decades. Realized in 1888, in the early years of the artist's career, the painting was inspired by life in the villages around The Hague, where Van Gogh spent a short but important time in creating his own artistic style.
Auction organizers say the importance of the painting was highlighted by the fact that she had been hanging for 25
years at the prestigious museums of the world.
As the only landscape realized by the Dutch artist during this period in his career, it contains many elements that would later become symbols of his work, including the skies clothed in clouds.
In a letter to his brother Theo, Van Gogh showed how much he was impressed by rural women, which are reflected as they move around the fields with heads covered with a handkerchief.
The auction will take place on 4 June in the French capital
