DRAWING THE GRID LINES

First I get an HB pencil and a 23 inches long ruler to make vertical and horizontal lines to create a cube box of 1 inch each.

DRAWING THE OUTLINES

Still using the HB pencil I go ahead and draw outlines according to as it looks in the grid box on my phone.

MAKING THE FOUNDATION FOR THE HAIR

after making the outlines I pick up a bring orange color wax pencil and orange pastel to create the first layer of the hair, for the start I make cross hatching lines to make a solid foundation for hair

SHADING THE FOREHEAD

Shading the forehead was a bit challenging than I expected, but as a pro I make shades using the scribbling technic to separate light form dark.

SHADING THE CHICKS AND EYES

Shading the eyes is the most significant aspect of the art piece, using cross hatching shading technique I connected the fore head to the eyelids down to the eye bags and then extending it to the cheeks, the eye was a bit interesting to shade because it brings out the beauty and the entire work I use several colors of pastel to create dark tunes and light tunes in the eye making it more realistic I always sharpen the edges using my wax colored pencil.

ADDING DETAILS ON THE FACE

To create highlights I used my tombo monozero erasers to indicate highlights then blending them using a cotton wool.

SHADING THE SHOULDER AND THE CLOTHES

to summarize the art piece I used a darker brown and a chocolate brown color to shade the shoulders differentiating the dark tunes from the light tunes, then I made the foundation for the cloth using red pastel and metallic color pencil, I also concluded the hair by adding an extra layer of wax colour pencils.

Welcome to Art & Artists.

Such a colourful and happy face.
What are chicks? Do you mean cheeks?

Are you using colour pencils or wax sticks or soft pastels? I see a box next to your painting which doesn't look like colour pencils or was pencils or sticks! Meaning your title and hashtag is wrong. Please, change it so we know what we are looking at and mention the name of the materials you used.
What type of paper did you use?
Brand and type of sticks
Brand, type of pencils (Bruynzeel?).

Please, use for your first hashtag #artonsteemit and only hashtags related to your post to make yourself visible.

Can you show me a picture of your pen ils and the box with sticks?

In your text you talk about "pastels" which is not the same as wax pencils.

Do you use different media in one painting?
I am interested to hear your experiences.

Thank you.

Yes I use different media on my painting to arrive at a better result
This image here is the pastels this are soft pastels, I do use hard pastels too but just for specific areas to get the best out of it
