'Half Light or Half Shade'

The eternal question about the water in a glass was, and will always be: "Is the glass half empty or half full?" Does a person see only the adversities of life or is he/she more aware of the positive? Let's take a look at it a bit deeper. If the glass was empty, there would be no need for the personal point of view because everyone would immediately see that "shit has already hit the fan". On the other hand, if a glass was full, would a person ever doubt it? Well, believe it or not, some of us would. Some are not happy even when the glass is full and are not able to recognize it before it's too late. The saying, unfortunately, presumes that life is always at "half" something and that the compromise is always the golden middle road. Would you agree?

If you agreed you're wrong! :D I'm only trying to confuse you. The saying is actually spot on the mark and is not presuming anything. Our perspective is the only thing defining our reality. The assumption 'half' relates to any situation that can be observed as a blessing or a curse. Clouded by judgements, we are usually lacking objectivity in our thoughts and mostly see what we like to see.

Now, what does all this have to do with my photograph? :D

Before I answer, let's take a closer look. The composition is central, closed with a dominant element, a circle that is cut into two parts. The light one and the darker one. The corners are vignetted, contrast is moderate, colours are washed out. The greenish colour on the dark part is signifying that something is wrong.

Now, the answer. The shallow hole is full of water and the only thing changing with our perspective is whether the water is half shaded or half lit. This puts the water story in a different perspective. It is full all the time. We can metaphorically move left or right and by doing so define the amount of shade that we find appropriate. So, there are no halves. Total freedom of choice. Shade everything if you like, I prefer the light! :D

Don't miss the little light area pushing in the shaded part, right there in the middle and a tiny white stone in the bottom left. ;)

Enjoy!

Good post as we know the water flows and waves calmly. Being the source of life for all of us. Will and we must be careful with water, because if the water is dammed, he can flatten whatever he passes, be it kampung, kota, even kumendiri as humans. The water is flexible in all terrain locations. He is never afraid in any circumstances, dynamic. The water is strong.

The hard rock will be damaged by water droplets. Changed in any form, the water will not disappear. For example heated will be uaptapi substance not lost, cooled will freeze but the substance will not disappear too. Scientifically, Hawking 1997-American artist-called the living water bertipikal anomaly. Water has a special anomaly and almost different from other creations of God.Processing process and search for rhythmic water and Guarantee any life in the vicinity. Being whatever it is water, it still gives the guarantee of serenity for life.

Thaks you...

Smart analysis Veli!

What I see looking at the photo is the distinction between the part you regard as dark and the lighter one:

In the darker part - we can clearly see what's in the bottom of the little hole, while at the lighter part - we might just imagine a mirror at here, making us look at ourselves and miss the chipped pebbles filled hole.

Many times we have two ways of looking at things - when we look at others and their deeds, we see perfectly deep, seeing everything that's wrong with them and criticise them, but when it comes to ourselves - the little chips in our personality and the wrong things we do disappear- we see only the surface of things and refuse to look deep and honestly upon ourselves.

What we should do is to try to be whole - just like we got the visible and the mirrored part together in one hole- we should try to look deep on one hand, on ourselves and on others, and be merciful and try to look favorably upon others also just like we do upon ourselves.

Man you have got this all figured out. This post paints the picture for positivity. I think it's all about positive approach about things. It's a matter of perception. I mean everything will appear to you as how you perceive it. A glass half empty or a glass half full. These are basically the same but here's when positivity kicks in. Awesome post and a great suitable picture.
In nutshell if you keep your face to the sunshine, you cannot see your shadow. Thank you @velimir

Black and white, Yin and Yan, Pessimists and optimists - all this is a universal balance. But what is the balance?
As you gave an example above - for one person a glass is half empty and for another glass is half full. People are different and it has always been so. But there is a saying - "when we have not value, but lose and weep." Its meaning is that only after losing something, we begin to appreciate this thing or this person. Everything is relative.
Well, too, the rule applies to the world around us. For example, you can not always enjoy life, somehow negative events or life difficulties occur. The whole point is how you perceive them. If the dark side prevails in your soul and your mind - you will panic and blame the situation. If you look at the world with optimism - you will take a lesson from this situation and take it calmly.
We can observe the balance in everyday life, for example, a person who undeservedly received large riches more often just as easily and quickly with them is forgiven. The person who commits the evil, one way or another will be punished for it. Either society or karma.
The small area that goes to the dark side as if tells us that the preponderance will always be on the white side. Good thoughts and healthy optimism - that's what matters.
Goodnight:)

After I read your post, I asked myself what could be my answer if it is asked to me either the water is half shaded or half lighted. I think I would say half shaded..But your perspective is very brilliant: It is full all the time.. It is on our hand how to define it..We are the one who look at the things either dark or light..

Hi @velimir you are right people see the world in that way it is all about compromise, much to do with the fact that we need to accommodate the other half, like the photo you have with the rock holding half of the water very symbolic :)

It is said by the Eldar that in water there lives yet the echo of the Music of the Ainur more than in any substance that is in this Earth; and many of the Children of Ilúvatar hearken still unsated to the voices of the Sea, and yet know not for what they listen.

Someone told me something to fill me relax & i can fill it & can do anything. If you want to do something creative then move forward .

Take a shower, wash off the day. Drink a glass of water. Make the room dark. Lie down and close your eyes.
Notice the silence. Notice your heart. Still beating. Still fighting. You made it, after all. You made it, another day. And you can make it one more.
You’re doing just fine.

I hope you'll do your best. Best of luck.
