WANT A CHIBI/ANIME AVATAR FOR FREE??? (@aboutart's avatar)

Today guys I made an avatar chibi for my girlfriend @aboutart . She has an account here in which she's posting all of her artworks using her colored pencils, she also blogs about interesting stuffs and food recipes, so check her out.

I made an avatar for her cause she has been demanding it for months. I forgot about it and this is kinda a surprise for her. I don't really draw this kind on animes, IDK why? Maybe I just don't have enough cuteness inside me, haha but it was really fun. And I want to do more...

Process

Before I end this post let me show you a quick preview on the process of making this avatar.

As I have mentioned before I do not own a graphic pad so drawing digitally has been very challenging for me. So to make things easier for me I always draw first on a piece of paper and then I upload it on my computer.

Then I will trace the lines.

In coloring, I will color it first with the base or flat colors.

Next I will gradually add the shadows.

Then some highlights.

I made a chibi/anime eye tutorial before, here is the link, link if you want to check that out too. That is the same process on how I made her eyes.

Lastly I added some finishing details and this is the time also where you can take a long look at your artwork to see if there is still something missing or something is just too much. Don't be scared to erased something to make your artwork perfect for you.
