Monkey Flaming spear(rod)

Hello guys, it's nice to be here.
I'll be sharing an artwork from today which I call "the flaming spear(rod)". I came up with this piece after staring at the one I made for posting yesterday. I could not post that one because I had not come up with a name for it and I didn't know how to write a post on it at first(will share it as next post for you to see).
This one too does not really have much of a back story, I just wanted to paint without starting with line drawing or something.

To paint this, I first thought of the brush sets to use from the sets on sketchbook. After thinking for a sec, I decided to go for the designer and artist set. I was only going to use the designer set if there was need.

When I was done selecting a set, I went for the brush at the right corner top of the artist brush set and started painting the hand. I used the other other brush to the left of the previous for lighter painting and shadowing cos I reduced the brush opacity. I switched to Airbrush when it was time to paint the arms.

Still using airbrush, I painted the monkey( is that really a monkey?🤣🤣🤣) and drew the eyes with dream brush.

After some painting, it was almost time for the rod to glow. For that I used the first of the glow neon brush

I didn't do that responsibly though but I liked it and smudged the edges to make it look a little blazing.

That was a nice time with sketchbook and it seems to remind me of the "Wu kong" movie I watched five years ago. My school had just got a new projector so they were giving it a test drive while playing a movie. maybe that's not the entire story.
Have a nice day guys, I got some business to attend to. Let me hear your thoughts in the comments ❤️
