To the new start: created on Jan 1
Hello guys, welcome to another post on my art blog. I’ve been quite busy since resumption, so much that I almost forgot I wanted to share this piece.
I actually made this at the beginning of the month/year but ended up posting something else instead.
It was meant as a “cheers to a new beginning,” though I wasn’t able to change the desert-like sand that—in my opinion—didn’t quite fit the “new beginning” theme. That’s partly why I hesitated to post it, but I’ve since changed my mind(Sometimes an artist only find his work beautiful after so many days of discarding it😩. Hate it when that happens but it's a good thing)
Process
- I started by using a dream brush to paint the growing plant in the center.
- Next, I made the background blue to represent the sky, and then painted the ground a desert-like yellow.
I darkened one side of the plant to show the sun’s direction and added some highlights.
Using an airbrush, I added brown tones and created a heap of sand in the background, darkening some areas for depth.
- I added another growing plant, then used a thorny brush to create some grass in the environment.
- Finally, I used different blues on the sky and placed a yellow sun on the right side of the painting.
