Drawing a horse in black and white.

Hi everyone, today I want to share a black and white drawing I did yesterday of a horse, but first I want to tell you how I came up with the idea.

Yesterday morning I really wanted to draw, but the problem was I didn't know what to do. So I tried painting different things until I realized I'd never drawn a horse for this community (ART and ARTISTS).

I started working on it, but, believe it or not, I didn't like how it was turning out and I had to erase it. Anyway, I thought about other ways to draw a horse and discovered one: painting just the head with a small part of the body.

Finally, I found a good way to draw it, and this time I managed to finish the drawing without having to erase it first, haha.

I can tell you that this was one of the most difficult drawings I've done so far, but it was worth it. I enjoyed trying a new way of drawing. Join me to see how I made the drawing.

To begin drawing the horse, I started with the first step, which was gathering my materials. In this case, a pencil and paper were the only materials I needed. In the second step, I proceeded to draw the horse. First, I drew part of its head and muzzle to get an idea of its appearance.

For the third and fourth steps, I proceeded to draw the details: eyes, nose, mane, and the remaining body parts. At this point, the horse takes on almost all the forms of the drawing I had planned, but there is still much to draw; the most important steps are still to come.

Steps five and six are the most important for me. In them, I shaded the entire body with graphite to give the drawing a different shape, where the details are more visible and the horse looks a bit more realistic. I applied the graphite with my finger, as it was easier to add the details that way. I shaped the horse's chest and shaded the head to make it even more realistic. That's all I did in steps five and six, and that's how I achieved this result.

I hope you liked the drawing. This was the final result. I put a lot of effort into it, and it was the most difficult one I've ever done. I can tell you it took me a long time, maybe two hours. I hope you enjoyed my post and my drawing today. See you soon.

Horses are indeed not easy I only painted one a few months ago. It was with help of a youtube video. That lady made it very simple (all circles attached to another). I find it smart to skip what you can't draw 😁

Painting a horse isn't easy. The first ones I drew were a long time ago, and I even had to do them by watching a YouTube video, just like you. In my case, it was because I didn't know how to draw 😅.

Later, I got the hang of drawing a horse, but you know, I can't draw one without a picture or an idea of a horse that I can see on my phone. And so, little by little, I paint.

Looking at your painting up close, I have to say I loved it 😀. That background landscape, along with the sand and water, makes the drawing look fantastic. The colors of the horse and the way it runs through the water bring the painting to life; it's excellent. Thanks for everything, my friend. See you later.

If you ask me there's nothing wrong about watching a YouTube video to learn how to draw let's be fair at most schools you no longer are told how to draw or how to do any skills unlike what I had a primary school already. If you want to attend drawing lessons it can be very expensive and I do believe that autodidact, people who told themselves how to paint doing a way better job than many of those attending an art school. Friends of mine and my children are good examples of that, but it needs practice every day, every single day and interest in the subject.

You do a great job since it's not easy to stay motivated I hope you keep drawing and painting.

🍀❤️

Hey friend, sorry for not replying sooner. I started school two days ago and I've been really busy, but I've finally found some time for Steemit and to chat.

You know, I agree with you. I was taught to draw in elementary school, but after elementary school, no other school offered painting classes. I've never been to an art school, so I've had to learn on my own. I'm also grateful to my mom for helping me learn to paint.

Thanks for everything, friend. I'll try to stay active, draw, and create for Steemit. I'm glad you liked my drawings. I'll try to make time for Steemit every time I get home from school. See you later, have a great day!😀

Good luck at school. If it comes to drawing you can also finish one drawing in several days. If you have time look at the latest post of @aellly. Each picture he shows is one evening work.

❤️🍀

Thanks, although school takes up some of my time, I'll try to post regularly.

That sounds like a good idea; I have to do it. Since I have less time, I can work on a drawing for a post over several days and, when I finish it, I'll post it. Great idea, thanks!

I checked out the posts and the one you mentioned about Aellly; her drawings are amazing, I loved them. She does fantastic work. I think I can do the same: work on the drawings at night and get ahead. Thanks for everything, friend, see you later. You're a great person.

It is strange isn't it how we always tend to believe that if you start something it has to be finished the same moment or at least that same day. I know I feel that way and at times it's okay because if you can do a quick drawing a day or perhaps twice a day you can get more experience. There's no need to because if you do something every day you have practice too and time to check and see what your next step will be.

I wish you a great day.

You're absolutely right. You know, I'm like that too; I usually finish my drawings the same day, but sometimes I don't have time and end up doing them over two days. I don't know why I do it, but it's helped me stay active on Steemit. I don't think I have much experience drawing, but doing these drawings for Steemit has helped me improve. Thanks for everything, friend, have a good day too.

Hello, friend. I have never seen you before.
We are all people who love art or like painting. Your work is great, I really like it.
I can't be as cautious as you, especially when drawing horses. This painting looks very smooth. The horse is in good spirits.
My drawing skills are very poor. Therefore, I am unable to provide you with any useful advice. I hope we can both stick to this hobby. I wish you a happy life.

Hi @aelly, it's a pleasure to meet you. I'd never seen you before either. @wakeupkitty helped me find you. You're a great artist; you draw very well. I wish I could draw like that. I only draw animals, but you draw people, which is much more difficult. Don't worry about that; you've already given me good advice with your drawings. You do a great job. Let's keep drawing and creating. Thanks for everything, friend. See you later.

Don't worry, your translation came out very well; I understood everything. I write in Spanish and have to translate it into English, haha. We all use a translator. Have a great day!

¡Congratulations!
