Nigerian woman on tribal mark Series

Hello art lovers, so I decided to make the art a series, where I tend to showcase beautiful African women with their head ties and tribal marks.

This tribal marks are a means of identification just like I mentioned in my first post, which happens to be the first drawing of this series. Subsequently i will be dropping more art regarding this project. So today I decided to make this particular one for your viewing pleasure. Stay tune with me for i will be posting more of this kind of art.

I was able to achieve this drawing using my charcoal pencil and crayon on an A4 paper
8 X 11 inch

Below are my process

progress

This was my first sketch I started with the head tie first
IMG_7416.jpeg
At this stage I proceeded towards sketching some part of the face.
IMG_7417.jpeg
I added lines that represents the tribal mark of my subject, well this mark doesn’t look well detailed yet since it was just a sketch.
IMG_7418.jpeg
I brought out all my outlines and highlights of my subject, which I used as my guide towards painting the face and components of the drawing.
IMG_7419.jpeg
I started painting the head tie adding different beautiful colors of the head tie to give it a unique feel.
IMG_7420.jpeg
I proceeded towards painting the face which actually took most of my time to do.
IMG_7421.jpeg
I proceeded towards the neck, if you noticed I started my sketch and drawing from top to buttom, this rule isn’t a must but sometimes it helps you accomplish your work faster and also give your work the neatness you need. But sometimes there are works that even if it gets dirty in the process you can still make a visual impact with such mistakes, so in art there is nothing like a mistake you can always correct or amplify it into something meaningful
IMG_7422.jpeg
I gave my background a dark look which will help my color to look more deep

The hashtag #ccc doesn't belong here.
You also used #steemexclusive twice. Why did you use #creativewriting if you post a drawing?

Suggestion for hashtags: #artonsteemit #art #drawing #woman #steemexclusive

Oh please can you suggest more hashtags I thought I could use any hashtags, and I didn’t use steem exclusive twice there is an omission of ‘c’ in one of them. I have seen someone use the ccc tag on this community and I thought I could use thesame also. Please help me with more suggestions so I don’t go off track Thanks 🙏

Hi @hive-120695,Thank you so much for making me visible.
Have a great weekend

Your artwork is really beautiful and inspiring. The way the tribal marks on the face of a Nigerian woman presented not only shows your artistic skills but also highlights the beauty of the culture and identity. The colorful head tie and dark background make the portrait look more prominent and attractive. Your creativity is truly appreciated. I wish you success and blessings.

Is this also a draft? I wonder what a drawing or oil painting would look like.

What Draft ? This is a crayon 🖍️ drawing though, oil painting will look different. There is no difference with my sketches that are in black and white, from the image you will see my pencil strokes i only use the crayon to give it a color shade.

If I remember well we once had a discussion about the difference among the drawings you post. The same discussion you had with @joslud. You said you mainly posts drafts online and usually work with oil paint so that's why I asked.

What would an oil painting of a woman look like? The same style? Did you ever used the crayons to paint something more realistic?

Oh now I get you, my oil painting style are quite different. On steemit i mostly experiment ideas and play around portraits. but I have a style which I use for my professional portfolio. Here is a real sample of my oil painting.

Hello.
I find your theme interesting. In my opinion, the tribal markings should stand out. I feel they get lost among so many layers of graphite and crayon.

But you've made it clear several times that this is your style, and that's fine.

And I would definitely like to see more of your oil paintings.

Oh, well I didn’t notice I was just trying to play around with my tonal value on the face.
Yes it’s just a style I experiment with just to keep my hand busy. Hopefully in the future I will post my oil paintings, oil paintings takes longer time to produce.
