Portrait drawing titled “ Suffering and smiling”

Oftentimes I ask my self what kind of world we live in, it’s crazy how life can happen so fast. We live in a generation where we bottle things a lot and then before we know it becomes a source of our misery.

I titled this piece “suffering and smiling“ because I see a generation where we accommodate a lot of intolerant things and smile over it like we all fine. I was ones like this before until a shift occurred in my life where I get to sit with my self and ask my self why do I keep on tolerating some things, and the crazy thing is it never stops. The human mind is a very complex system.

We often cover our pain and struggles with a smile. As humans we are so quick to reply “I am fine”
but are we really fine?
Are you really fine?

I just want you to be truthful to yourself whatever you go through, go through it but don’t let it weigh you down. Smile if you can but ensure you keep a positive mindset and move on, if there is a chance for you to open up please do, speak to a trusted friend who you know has your best interest.

I know we all weren’t asked to be born into this world. Always count yourself fortunate to experience pain pleasure and happiness of this world.
It all a full package that comes with being human, we are not only here to smile and enjoy life, we are here to have an experience until we reach a state of immortality because we won’t last on earth forever.

I don’t believe we behave any differently today than we did 100 or 500 years ago. In every culture, you have to hold back and aren’t allowed to be yourself. Keeping up appearances has always been considered normal. Anyone who can’t do that is ostracised and is no longer allowed to belong, because what they say affects the rest of the group. In that respect, it’s better not to belong to a group.
Let’s say we’d call this: laughing through gritted teeth.

Yeah I agree with you and you highlighted some very key points, culture has a huge influence on us all and we aren’t so different from how our ancestors behaved years ago.

You made a very powerful drawing. I can really feel the emotions behind it. It reminds me how sometimes we hide our struggles and pain behind a smile. We try to stay strong. I am also try to do this. Your work makes people stop and think about the feelings we often keep to ourselves.

Yeah dear it’s crazy how most of our struggles are mostly from our mind and emotions, we just have to keep moving in a positive light If we really want to enjoy this life.
