Portrait of a man on a mission
Hello art lovers, today I am sharing a piece of work which is just a random sketch, I was going out for work and I thought I should create something quick before I step out. This work illustrates that gaze you give when you are so deeply rooted in what someone is telling you, and in that process you are trying to figure out if what you heard is actually true. Well the art speaks for it self I am sure we all had that kind of experience before.
Materials
Charcoal
Graphite pencil
Eraser
A4 paper
progress
My progress work are so simple and easy to understand, I don’t use a very compex technique in terms of my drawing and shading. This was my first sketch for this work.

At this stage I brought out the whole framework of the face, preparing it for shading. This outline give you a guide towards shading, it’s a preliminary stage every artist go through, and you must go through as an armature or professional artist.

I started applying thick strokes of lines on the hair, I made the hair dark because that’s a crucial value to give when shading hair, considering the fact that most people have dark hair except for blonde hair individuals.

I made use of hatching on the face it’s a technique I normally use when shading my subjects.

Final work
This was my final drawing of the whole process. I hope you all like it.

Strange, as I saw the 3rd picture I thought it would turn out to be a different guy.

Ahahahhahahaha 😂😂 i can imagine your worries, well sketches dont always look like the final product, it’s just like when a car is been manufactured from the scratch the end result always beats the starting stage. Thanks for your comment 🫶🏻🙌🏾🙌🏾✊🏾
