Hey guys, it’s good to be back posting.
For over four days now I haven’t had the time to draw or make a post here, today I decided to make something quick.

This is a work I did after looking at a reference image, the reference is down below 👇 the reference is a black and white portrait but I decided to give it a colorful look.
When I was doing this work my intention was to create my own out of the original photo, and I am pleased with my outcome.

Materials

Charcoal and crayon on paper
8 X 11 inch

progress

My progress work is pretty simple I started with a faint sketch before thickening the strokes of my pencil.

I added hatched lines which forms the basis of my color shades, this hatching will help me get the 3d look of my subject

Final piece

This piece is just a replica of the original portrait I found online, and my aim was to create my own version of it, which I did and I really love the outcome.
