Gardius, a difficult problem to solve 🪓

Good evening, my dear readers from the #Steemit artistic community. Happy Friday! I hope you are all doing well. Here's another opportunity from your friend Manuel, who is very happy to bring you a new artistic post for my blog. This time, I wanted to return to the theme of warriors, which is one of my favourite characters. In this case, I wanted to invent a character whom I decided to call Gardius, a man who possesses courage and gallantry like no other, as well as a very strong temperament. Gardius was entrusted with the mission of leading a small troop of warriors through a dangerous desert, but what Gardius did not know was that this was all a trap. His superiors could no longer tolerate Gardius questioning many of their orders, so they decided to get rid of him in the simplest way possible, ambushing him with his own troop. But what his leaders did not count on was Gardius' great strength. Despite being ambushed in the middle of a stormy desert, he faced the more than 10 soldiers who attacked him, managing to survive with only a few wounds. Now it is his leaders who must be wary of him and the harsh revenge he has in store for them:

Muy buenass noches mis queridos lectores de la comunidad artística de #Steemit, feliz viernes, espero que se encuentren super bien, por aquí los saluda una nueva oportunidad su amigo Manuel super feliz de poder traerles un nuevo post artístico para mi blog. Esta vez quise volver a la temática de los guerreros, la cual es de mis personajes favoritas, en este caso quise inventarme un personaje al cual decidí llamar por el nombre de Gardius, un hombre que posee un valor y gallardías como ningún otro, así como un temperamento muy fuerte; a Gardius le fue encomendad la misión de dirigir una pequeña tropa de guerreros a través de un peligroso desierto, pero lo que Gardius no sabia era que todo esto se trataba de una trampa, sus superiores ya no toleraban que Gardius cuestionara muchas de sus órdenes, así que decidieron deshacerse de el de la forma más sencilla posible, emboscándolo con su propia tropa, pero con lo que no contaban sus lideres era con la gran fortaleza de Gardius, a pesar de ser emboscado en medio de un tormentoso desierto el les hizo frente a los más de 10 soldados que lo atacaron, logrando sobrevivir solo con algunas heridas, y son ahora sus lideres los que deberán cuidarse de él, y de la dura venganza que tiene preparada para ellos:

As usual, I like to start by making a basic sketch of my main character, who in this case would be Gardius. For him, I decided to give him a fairly thick and stocky body structure, with some muscle in his arms, medium-length hair, and a thick beard. As I mentioned before, Gardius was ambushed and wounded during his battle in the desert, which is why I also decided to draw some cuts, wounds, and a couple of scars on his left arm as a result of the battle. Once I had finished the sketching process, I continued with the coloring. In this case, I started working on the skin with a color palette of light pink tones. I began by using my airbrush brush to shape the primary volumes on the face, neck, arms, and so on, and then I used watercolors to create more details, defining and softening the shadows.

Como es de costumbre me gusta empezar realizando un boceto básico de mi personaje principal que en este caso seria (Gardius), para el decidí adoptar una estructura corporal bastante gruesa y fornida, con cierta musculatura en brazos, una cabellera con un largo medio y una poblada barba; y como les comente antes Gardius fue emboscado y herido durante su batalla en el desierto, es por ello que también decidí dibujar algunas cortas, heridas y un par de fechas incrustadas en su brazo izquierdo como consecuencia de la batalla. Ya habiendo terminado con el proceso de bocetado continúe con el coloreado, en este caso empecé a trabajar la piel con una paleta de colores con tonos medio rosados claros, en este caso empecé usando mi pincel de aerógrafo para ir conformando los volúmenes primarios en el rostro, cuello, brazos y demás, ya luego con la acuarela fui creando mas detalles, definiendo y suavizando más las sombras.

In the case of the left arm, I decided to add some cuts and wounds sustained during Gardius' battle. To do this, I used my fine brush and a few short strokes to give the appearance of cuts made by swords or knives. Then, for the eyes, I wanted to convey a serious look with a hint of fury, so I used brown and reddish tones, dropping the eyelids a little at the sides and closing the lower eyelid slightly to make the character of Gardius look angry. For the hair, I used a palette of fairly dark gray tones. My intention here was to make Gardius look like a mature man of about 40 years of age. For the basic shape of the hair, I used the watercolor brush together with the bristle brush, as I did for the beard.

En el caso del brazo izquierdo se me ocurrió agregar algunas cortadas y heridas producidas durante la batalla que sostuvo Gardius, para ello use mi pincel fino y de algunos trazos cortos para dar un poco de apariencia de cortes con espadas o cuchillos. Después para el trabajo de los ojos quise transmitir una mirada seria y con un poco de furia, para ella usé tonos marrones y rojizos dejando caer un poco los parpados a en los laterales y cerrando un poco el parpado inferior para que el personaje de Gardius se viera molesto. Para el pintado del cabello use una paleta de tonos grises bastante oscuros, mi intención aquí era (Gardius) diese la apariencia de ser un hombre maduro de uso 40 años aproximadamente, para la forma básica del pelo use el pincel de acuarela junto con el de cerdas, así como también lo use en la barba.

For the third part, I was in charge of creating the costume for Gardius. In this case, I wanted to represent the character as an authentic warrior, so I first looked for a blue color palette for the base of his torso. My idea was to create a kind of shirt as the base garment. Then, using brown and purple tones, I began to create thick, somewhat rudimentary armor that partially covered his torso, shoulders, and other areas. In this case, I started with a few strokes using my noisy brush, making circular strokes in the area of the shoulder pads and forearms. Then, using a lighter shade, I made strokes to represent shine and give the armor a little more realism. For the large axe, which was the only weapon he had (Gardius), I used shades of gray ranging from medium gray to dark gray. Then, using shades of white, I created the metallic texture with lots of shine and, of course, the edge on the front of the axe.

Para la 3ra parte me encargue de lo que seria la construcción de la vestimenta para (Gardius), en este caso quise representar al personaje como un auténtico estilo guerrero, para esto primero busque una paleta de colores azules para la base de su torso, en este caso mi idea era crear una especie de camisa como prenda base; luego con tonos marrones y morados comencé a crear una armadura con textura gruesa y un poco rudimentaria la cual cubrieses parcialmente su torso, hombros y demás, en este caso empecé con algunos trazos con mi pincel ruidoso dando trazos circulares en la zona de las hombreras y los antebrazos, luego con un tono mas claro fui realizando trazos que representaran brillos y que le dieran un poco mas de realismo a la armadura. En el caos de la gran hacha la cual era la unica arma con la que contaba (Gardius) use tonos grises desde un gris medio hasta un gris oscuro, luego con tonos blancos cree la textura metálica con muchos brillos y por supuesto el filo en el borde frontal del hacha.
