My latest Watercolour painting from the Rideau River in Canada

I did another painting from the shore of the Rideau River here in Ontario Canada. The snow is slowly melting … but winter is holding on.

Today the temperature has dropped back down to -12 Celsius !!!

Location: Rideau River, Ontario Canada

I am waiting for the paper to dry now before I add more colour to the snow and Ice covered river…..

My process :

Step 1: Start with light pencil sketch on watercolour paper .. add cobalt blue for sky and island along horizon line

Step 2: add wash of blue to snow on river. Yellow ochre on shore

Step 3: Add details to Birch trees in Foreground
