Charcoal Pencil Bird

in ᴀʀᴛ & ᴀʀᴛɪꜱᴛꜱyesterday

There are some hours to kill and I am tired after cleaning up. Tomorrow I will do a bit more but now I need a break. I don't feel too well. I am not sure yet if I travel home or stay here.

I brought along some paper, charcoal pencils (hard, medium and soft) a kneading eraser and the Pentel oil pastels plus some gloves to keep my hands clean might customers arrive.

I should have started with the oil pastels since most customers arrive around 3 pm and later not in the morning.

Underneath you see the first charcoal pencil drawing and bird in my life (indeed I painted my owl with soft pastels). I am not too fond of birds except birds of prey l, but I never drew one. Kind of odd but that's me. Let's say I am more hesitant to draw what is close to me.

I had some issues with the eye and as you can see, I changed some angles of the bird a bit. Of course it did take me more time than I expected but at least, although being disturbed about 6 times, it did calm me.

I am going to leave it this way. It is fine for a first try.
By the way, I cancelled the private painting lesson for today, because of the shop and did the same with the painting group for Wednesday coming up. I need some more me time. Painting in peace, doing nothing and gathering my thoughts is what I need most instead of all the non stop chit chat.
