Watercolor Vespa 🎨💧 – Step by Step Journey
Hello, my dear art friends
Today, I’m excited to share a new watercolor piece — a rusty old Vespa, carrying the nostalgic charm of the past. Every brushstroke tells a little story, and I wanted to capture that feeling in a short video.
☕ Getting into the mood
Before starting, I set up all my tools on the table:
🎨 Watercolor paints.
🖌️ Soft brushes of different sizes.
📝 A4 watercolor paper (21×30 cm).
Paper tape.
🪵 wooden chassis to fix the paper.
🩹 Charcoal eraser to lightly fade the outline.
💧 Water.
🧻 Paper tissues.
I also made myself a cup of coffee with milk ( French Coffee ) ☕, played some relaxing music, and got fully into the creative mood. 🎶
🖌️ Process
1️⃣ First, I fixed the paper on the wooden chassis.
2️⃣ Then, I sketched the Vespa outline.
3️⃣ I gently used the charcoal eraser to fade the outline just enough to guide my painting.
4️⃣ I began coloring the background, using lots of water, which is essential for that soft watercolor flow.

5️⃣ After that, I focused on the Vespa itself, building up layers to reflect the rust and the vintage look.
6️⃣ Finally, I added the smallest details using a fine brush to bring the Vespa fully to life.

💭 The feeling1
Sometimes the brush doesn’t just paint a shape — it paints a feeling.
Every touch of color tells a story, evoking memories, music, and emotions.
This Vespa is a reminder of the past, simple yet alive, like a melody that suddenly brings back a memory.
I remember that you love watercolors, this is a painting I made recently, and I hope you like it, @joslud
And a huge thanks to @imranhassan for his constant support and encouragement.
Behind the Scene – Reference & Inspiration
This is the photo I used as a reference and inspiration for my watercolor painting.

It's great to see the Vespa come alive. To me it's not an item of the past but for sure it brings back good memories.
The rustic look to me is not the Vespa but the way you painted the background.
Thanks for sharing.

Thank you so much for your kind words! 😊♥️
I’m glad the painting brought back some good memories for you.
Thank you so much Phantom Team! 🙏
I really appreciate your support and the kind recognition.
It means a lot to me and motivates me to keep creating and sharing more artworks.
Wow.
Thanks for getting so excited about this tutorial. It's true, watercolor is perhaps my favorite. I love the transparency that can be achieved. It's an art form with many techniques. You showed us some with the level of water content on the paper and the brush.
The Vespa really brings back a lot of memories.
Great! If you create tutorials for beginners, I think I'd sign up.
Great work, my friend.
Thank you so much, @joslud 🌸
Your words really made me happy! Watercolors have their own special magic, and I’m glad they brought back beautiful memories for you .
Your feedback truly encourages me. Honestly, I’ve been wanting to start some simple drawing lessons, but I’m still figuring out how to begin — especially with filming and my English 😅
Hopefully, I’ll start soon
You're a great painter. I really like it.
If I bring that drawing home to school, I'll definitely get a good grade from my teacher😀.
You're so kind, @misslaila ❤️
Your words made me smile 😊
I wish you always reach the highest grades and success, in art and everything you love and be an even better artist than me 💕
Yes sir, Maybe I can become a smart artist so I can get good grades at school, hehehe
Yes, you can do it. Just you need to practice and ask me anytime for Helping :))))))
Yes sir, I need a lot of practice🙌
