Asda Confirms Hale Barns Closure as Waitrose Takes Over
Shoppers in Greater Manchester will soon see a major change on the high street after Asda confirmed the closing date of its Hale Barns supermarket. The site, which opened just two years ago, will officially close at the end of July before reopening under the Waitrose brand later this year.

The 11,000-square-foot Asda supermarket on Hale Road, Hale Barns, will close on Friday, 31 July 2026.

Customers who regularly shop at the branch have been advised they can continue using nearby Asda stores in Altrincham and Wythenshawe, or shop online through the supermarket's delivery service.
