970 Players From 08 Countries Participated.

8 Games, 77 Competitions.

With 98 Medals (38 Gold, 36 Silver, 24 Bronze), Japan Remained Top In The Table.

With 17 Medals (05 Gold, 04 Silver, 08 Bronze), India Remained Fifth In The Table.

The 166-member team participated in the behalf of the host country, which was the largest contingent of sports.

Vietnam was second with 165 athletes and China (160) was the third largest team. India sent 69 players.

Pradhuman glorifies the national flag.

Indian athletes continue to win gold medal in second Asian Games. Prudhuman Singh Brar won gold medal with record in Asian Games in Shot put (14.14 m). After that, in the discus throw, the gold medal with the record won. He became the first Indian to win gold medal in the Games. The special thing was that Indian athletes won five gold medals and made a new game record for everyone. Besides this, three silver and six bronze also won.

First and last digit system

The performance of the first and the last players in these games was assessed on the basis of figures. This rule was only implemented in swimming and athletics. After this, it has never been implemented.
