Happy Birthday, Taurus!!

You are the birthday child this month. So settle back in your easy chair. Arrange some comfy pillows all around you. Get your remote control where you can reach it easily when you're done with this. Got something to drink? A snack or two close at hand? How 'bout some background music? How about a bit of incense, or a scented candle to freshen the air?

You do love your sensory pleasures, after all. And you don't need something as special as a birthday for an excuse to indulge yourself, but it helps.

Time to slow down, enjoy the scenery
and smell the flowers

If "enthusiastic" and "active" are words to describe Aries, then the ones to describe Taurus are "laid back" and "easy going." It seems that each new sign kind of rebels against the excesses of the one before -- striking its own entirely different theme upon arrival.

So while Aries pushes, moves and initiates ... in contrast to the quiet, dreamy, visionary personal aura and energy of Pisces ... Taurus energy likes to mellow out, and take life at a measured stride and on its own time schedule.

Taurus likes things "slow and steady."

(What can I say? Taurus is into "conservation of physical resources" ... and "conserving" its own energy is one of it's primary goals. You just can't push these folks any faster than they have a mind to go -- says this Aries lady, with a touch of exasperation -- and they do have a mind of their own. Either get used to it ... or prepare to make "antacids" a line item in the household budget.)

The conventional image of the "strong silent type" -- especially the movie hero made cliché in old time westerns -- who simply could not be pushed off center, either regarding his personal quirks and habits or concerning his stand on principle, was quintessentially a Taurus.

It takes a lot to upset him,
but when it happens ... watch out!!

So, too, is the habit of these folks to take an awful lot in terms of aggravations, guff, and problems, handling challenges with remarkable patience and fortitude, until something turns out to be "the last straw" ... and then the resulting rampage leaves devastation in its wake as if a tornado touched down and whipped through the area.

When Taurus folks get mad, the show is as spectacular as anything an Aries can concoct. In both cases, it's wise to take cover until the coast is once again really, really clear.

Fortunately, with Taurus, such moments are rare. This sign sincerely wants (arguably, needs) circumstances that are serene, peaceful, pleasant, harmonious, "nice," "lovely," dependable, and stable.

Taurus was made to enjoy life!!

Taurus people like to experience life at a leisurely pace, savoring the sensations of the physical world. The very idea of taking time to stop and smell the roses is a supremely Taurus notion.

No other sign may enjoy the sheer physical-ness of life more than Taurus. They love pretty colors, interesting textures, comfortable contours, intriguing and graceful shapes, delicious aromas, complex flavors, soothing and inspiring melodies, and their aesthetic tastes can be astounding.

In fact, they need a certain level of sheer beauty in their lives to operate properly. Circumstances that are dirty, cluttered, unpleasant, or simply unappealing ... can make a Taurus physically ill after a while. And a Taurus who keeps a messy environment around him is giving out serious signals of problems -- emotionally, mentally, spiritually ... and eventually physically.

Taurus likes to plan ahead, move slowly
and take things one step at a time.

Taurus is a homebody at heart. He (or she) loves the feeling of belonging in dependable, familiar surroundings, where he can kick back in comfort and not have to do anything he doesn't want to do.

Not only does he not like being prodded into anything that wasn't first of all his idea (and even then, he'll get to it on his own timetable), changes of any kind disturb him. This is a sign that likes to "plan for the future." By that I mean way far into the future, and then he likes to follow his own plan.

Trying to get a Taurus to move faster or change his mind is a genuine encounter with "the immovable object." Taurus refines obstinacy to an art form. It is truly the most fixed of the Fixed Signs (along with Aquarius, Scorpio, and Leo), and if you need to try to live with one (or get along with one) it does help to keep that in mind. You'll save yourself a lot of wear and tear if you do.

Thank you for stopping by!

If you've always known there was more to Astrology than Sun Sign material and the three line daily horoscope in the newspaper, climb aboard and follow this blog. You'll find a world of wisdom detailing how you were designed to work with life ... and why you are the way you are -- all in quick-to-read, easy-to-digest-and-remember, written-in-plain-English essays that offer plenty of food for thought.

Little by little, I'm doing a set of articles that talks about all the elements in your horoscope and what they have to say about you. If you "know something" about Astrology -- or know something about your chart placements, that will help you get more from this material.

If you don't ... well, this is one place you can learn. We all have to start somewhere ... because we aren't born knowing this stuff. Meanwhile, if you've never seen your horoscope ... and don't have a clue how to work with it, maybe it's time to find out. There are lots of "chart services" on the internet -- some of whom produce decent, readable charts "for free" and some are so awful and confusing that even I can't read them easily -- and I've worked with charts for decades.

One extremely user-friendly chart site is here: AstroLabe. I recommend them if you want a simple, easy-to-read chart. I think they even give a reasonable little interpretive reading of your horoscope as part of the package. You'll need to know your birth information -- day, month, year, time and geographical place. Without all that your chart will have limited accuracy.

Or, if you want to get serious and really talk about this, upvote this post and start a conversation in the comments section sometime in the next six days from the time of publication. We'll go from there depending on what you want to know.

Questions about any of this? -- Talk to me in comments. It's a terrific way to build value for yourself and the community ... and it will give me ideas of what to write about in future posts. Believe me there is lots to say about the way The Sun, The Moon -- and all the other elements in a horoscope, all the other components of Astrology -- work together to interpret you and your story -- and what it all means to the person you've become.

This is who I am.

About the art in our visual essays ...

Although sometimes the background pictures in our visual essays support the topic and text, they don't always. Sometimes the connection is clear. Sometimes it's symbolic and subtle. Sometimes, there's no connection at all.

The scenes depict landscapes and natural features, buildings and wildlife. They were chosen because they show something lovely or interesting ... or simply because the photo appealed to me.

Our spectacular and remarkable planet is changing at astonishing speed. Rarely are these changes for the better. Few people seem to know ... or care ... or have the will and power to do anything about this. It may not be long before the world humans have known and lived in for centuries is forever lost. We certainly won't be able to make repairs as fast as we destroyed it.

So a few years ago I began collecting pictures of the way things were ... and still are for now, a record of the beauty we have while it is still ours to love and honor.

The photos here are part of that collection, with sincere thanks to the artists who saw these moments ... and with their cameras ... preserved them. All of us at Enchanted Spirit are profoundly grateful to them for their generosity and skill ... and for the added grace, depth and dimension their art brings to ours.

Hi @enchantedspirit, what a beautiful exploration of the Taurean energy. I have been enjoying your astrology reports very much!

From the read of this one, I could very well be a Taurus, myself! (But I'm not...just equally steadfast, I reckon you could say.)

I have Jupiter and Lilith in Taurus, 11th house, at the same degree.

Haven't seen you in a while. Thank you for stopping by. May your Taurus Jupiter bless you real good!! (Mine is in Scorpio. I think I might like yours more!!)

Thanks @enchantedspirit! It's been so hectic keeping up with all my tasks, my mediumship, and my ongolng recovery to health (so glad we're nearly out of the woods on this Mercury shadow that's been making these other transits "fun").

Hope your Jupiter in Scorpio is also treating you well. Sounds like interesting turbulence, but fortunately you're aware of how to gracefully ride the tides!

You have collected your daily Power Up! This post received an upvote worth of 0.82$.
