Tomatoes coming through in the veggie garden!
I'm really pleased with these plants as they are self thrown, we must have thrown some bad tomatoes in the bed and forgot about them!
We had some crazy weather in Sydney and nothing planted in the beds, so they weren't checked on for quite a few weeks and then i noticed out of the windows one day that the weeds were looking rather tall in the bed, but they looked rather bushy so i went outside and surprise!! 5 healthy tomato plants!
Considering the cases rising lately and not wanting to go out, plus the prices of veggies at the moment, very happy to have them :)
In the past 3 days we have got about 8 tomatoes, and so many more almost ready!
The strawberries are also going great and throwing big sized ones as well, I think a combination of the rain we have had, followed by the very hot days, has given the garden quite a boost. We also have celery, cucumbers and more tomatoes planted but they are quite a few weeks behind, here's hoping they start giving us something soon too [plus i like stagger-planting, that way all the veggies wont be finished at the same time]
All of these were taken on the same day, the tomatoes look a bit messy as I didn't bother to try stake them, they seem to be happy growing wild so who am I to stop them :)
The strawberries are going pretty crazy! Overhanging both sides of the container and also growing inside as well, there is about 5 plants in there, they were struggling in other areas of the backyard and almost dead and so i put them in the container as a 'see what happens' thing, and they've just taken off :)
Very happy with the garden!! :)
