Bali Itinerary - 13 awaiting days in paradise!

in #bali7 years ago (edited)

Bali is an island rich in spiritual heritage, the continual attention to the balance between light/dark, night/day, and feminine/masculine, to name but a few. Tourists from all over the world flock every year to Bali to surf its waves, to attend yoga retreat, festivals, ecstatic dance, or to see its natures, temples, arts, to find inner peace or for the most delicious vegan/vegetarian food that's blown away my tastebuds. I'm in awe to this beautiful paradise so I’ve laid out this itinerary for my next trip on September to all of you my fellow travelers Steemitians! I hope will help you make the most of your days on the island. Namaste :-)

This is me from my last year trip to the island.

Nothing makes me scream, "I LOOOOVE this place!!" louder than being able to roll out of bed and go straight into water.

Let's talk about activities and sightseeing in Bali, what to see and where to go. Bali is a huge island with an endless list of places to visit and things to do. Here are the best things to do in Bali:

  1. Seminyak - So I decided to start our holiday here as this is not too far from the airport. Seminyak is close to Kuta but also far enough away that you can relax and unwind. There is plenty to do in Seminyak and surrounding areas.

  2. Besakih Temple - The holiest of all temples in Bali, the "Mother Temple" of Pura Besakih is located in Gunung Agung, East Bali. This sprawling complex consolidates 23 separate temples, some dating back to the 10th century. The temple's main axis aligns with the peak of Gunung Agung, the tallest mountain and holiest site in all of Bali. Note: Bring a sarong. Both men and women need to cover their legs below the knee with a sarong, while the sash should be worn around the waist.

  3. Tegalalang Rice Terraces of Bali - The most famous rice terraces are the ones in Tegalalang, a half hour north of Ubud.

  4. Surfing is one of the main reasons why I'm coming back to this island. Bali offers world-class surfing opportunities, but it's also one of the most affordable places in the world to learn surfing.

  5. The High Cliff at Melasti Beach - One of the most captivating beaches on Bali’s southern coast. It’s mostly in-the-know photographers who make it down to Melasti, drawn to its beautiful rock formations and stunning high cliffs.

  6. Healthy food in Ubud - Ubud, the spiritual center of the island and the place to get healthy and in shape! Some of the best places that I tried to eat in Ubud were Seniman-for the best coffee in Bali, Warung 9- cheap vegetarian buffet, AA Juicery & Cafe yummy breakfast bowls with the peaceful rice paddies views, Dayu's Warung-gluten-free and Kafe Ubud great burgers, also vegan options.

  7. Monkeys in Sacred Monkey Forest - Be cautious of this fury they are known for their thievery.

  8. Balinese Dance Show - I haven’t seen this one yet, but looks interesting, so I just added here. Hanoman_Kecak_Dance_Uluwatu_sunset.jpg.jpg to the locals.

On the side note: Bali's dry season is from April to September, weather-wise it's the best season to go, but also the most crowded time. You get much better deals if you travel during low season from January to March or between October and November. However, expect heavy rainfalls as this is the wet season. Of course you may not wish to leave Bali at all. I don’t blame you.
