Splinterlands in the Eyes of a Newbie + Giveaway!

Hey Splinterlands community,

This is my first time blogging on both the Hive community and Steem community. I hope that you guys will enjoy my posts and without further waiting, let's begin.

Splinterlands, formerly known as Steemmonsters, is not my first blockchain game, I have played Axie Infinity and Blockchain Cuties. Splinterlands is the black sheep in there; it is my only Steem blockchain game. I've heard about Splinterlands in a altcoin game site called Altcoin Fantasy (ever heard of it?).

I've started my Splinterlands career a month ago, and have invested a meager sum of $20 just to see if I like the game.I have been enjoying the game and have decided to ramp up my spending a bit by bit. Since I only started a month ago, I only have untamed cards and all my cards are residing at level 1. Even so, I have managed to constantly get to Gold 1, which is pretty good considering that I only have level 1 cards and I am facing against level 6 cards. I will be doing some newbie strategy posts and hopefully, the more experienced players will suggest some improvements. I will do another post hopefully (and another giveaway!) tomorrow when the season ends and I open my chest. Hopefully many people will get good things from it and not get ONLY potions (don't you hate that too?)

As for the giveaway, I will be giving away a Baby Unicorn. I know it isn't much but I wanted to start off with something small and hopefully ramp it up over time. I also have a lot of it and I want to get rid of some.
