Is Archmage, Arius The Next Most Valuable Crypto Card?
Splinterland is generating a significant amount of buzz across CT (Crypto Twitter) and other social networks after the announcement of UNTAMED, which is scheduled to launch this Saturday. All of a sudden, my boring early train commute to work became filled with excitement and curiosity after seeing the freshly made announcement. The news resurrected old memories of older crypto-based games like CryptoKitties and rarepepe. Can Archmage, Arius increase in value, or is UNTAMED going to give birth to a card much more epic than Arius?!
What Is Splinterland
For those who are new to Splinterland, Splinterland is a decentralized digital collectible trading card game built on the Steem blockchain.
The Most Valuable Blockchain Collectables
If you fire up, Google search and search for "The most valuable crypto-collectibles," your search results will yield a handful of results. In my opinion, only two are truly legendary. One of those legendaries is a cute digital kitty known as Dragon. Dragon is a gen nine static art of a female cat created in CryptoKitties and sold for $170,000 when BTC was at its peak. The other is known as the Legend of Lordkek created by Rarepep.party, one of the first blockchain digital card collectible, and sold for $25,000.
Can the All-powerful Archmage, Arius Claim, its Place Amongst The Legendaries and Join The High Roller Whale Club?
Currently, Arius holding the top spot for price and rarity, but could the incoming release of the Legendary Dragon Summoner or The Diamond Dragon outpass Arius? I hit up the Splinterland community to see if anyone have any information on how much Arius sold in the past but did not find any solid lead. Speculators are saying Arius sold for $500 and at peak can sell for up to $14,000, but we can only speculate.
Only Time Will Tell
I'm fascinated by how game developers are using the blockchain to captured value and distribute back to the gamers, speculators, and collectors. My optimism continues to increase when I see all the improvement the blockchain gaming community have accomplished. Communities are active, developers continue to innovate, and gamers embrace and support the games they play. The future looks bright for the blockchain gaming community, and the sector overall is pushing steaming forward.

I'm hoping Untamed will make Archmage Arius more useful. As of right now, the most powerful thing about it is that it's rare.
At the moment people are holding tight to their Archmage, Arius. I tried looking for past SELLs history of Arius but could not find any information.
