Malikussaleh University Students Win First Place in National Poetry Musicalization

Another proud achievement was achieved by a Malikussaleh University student. Desy Fatmasari, a student in the Public Administration Study Program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Malikussaleh University (Unimal), Aceh, Indonesia, won first place in the National Poetry Musicalization at the PERICARDIUM 2026 competition organized by the Nursing Student Association of the Bandung Ministry of Health Polytechnic.
The national competition, which ran from January 20 to February 15, 2026, addressed the issues of diabetes mellitus and mental health, and attracted over 200 participants from various universities across Indonesia. In addition to poetry musicalization, the competition also included essay, creative video, and infographic poster categories.
Judgement included the appropriateness of the theme, title, and content of the work. The competition included vocal quality (tempo, articulation, and intonation), performance (gestures, facial expressions, and attributes), emotional expression (accuracy of emotion and expression), and timing. The culminating event, which also announced the winner, took place on February 15, 2026, when Desy was announced as the national winner.
Desy expressed her gratitude for this achievement. She explained that through her poetry musicalization video, she wanted to spread information and raise awareness about diabetes mellitus and mental health. "I am very grateful for this achievement. Through my work, I want to convey a message about the importance of maintaining physical and mental health. I hope this work can help and benefit those around me," she said.
This achievement demonstrates that Malikussaleh University students not only excel academically but also possess creativity and concern for relevant health issues in society. This success is expected to inspire other students to continue excelling in various national competitions.[]
